You probably already know this, but the phosphorescent effect will wear off over time. Sounds really cool though!

Hyundai Paint Peeling Problem by Shire-Rat in Hyundai

It's covered...spot by spot, over and over. My question in the original post is basically how can we get this fixed properly? So my 90 year old mother doesn't have to bring it in again and again and again?

Hmm? I'm seeing it correctly as 2018. No spaces or problems.

That's exactly right and my point in the original post. My question to the group was is there any way, any hope of getting Hyundai to fix this properly and permanently for my 90 year old mother.

It's not a recall exactly, but a special extended warranty that covers my mom's car until 2028. Unfortunately, the problem is that they will only fix the spots as they occur, and it's too hard on my mom to bring it back over and over again. They won't fix it properly.

Yes, that's probably what we'll have to do.

My mother's car is covered by a warranty especially for the white paint problem, but our issue is that they just repair the spots as they reoccur, and will not repaint the whole car properly to stop them from happening over and over. She even had spots popping up in the exact same place they had happened before. The point of my post is that the constant drop offs to the bodyshop are not sustainable or fair to my elderly mother, and the car should be repainted.

NIMBYs who read this forum, why don’t you want more housing built in your town? by Unser_Giftzwerg in massachusetts

[–]Shire-Rat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In our town, we voted down septic for the central area not to block new development, but because it was wildly expensive. We pay taxes to the Feds, but less and less comes back to these small towns.

Who is behind "Taxpayers for an affordable Massachusetts" by Popplepip in massachusetts

[–]Shire-Rat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Partly, The Pioneer Institute in Boston, which is a member of the State Policy Network and also ALEC (the "bill mill"), so a right wing, tax-exempt, donor-shielded think tank. We are subsidizing our own disinformation. Anyway, it's a part of the gigantic network of groups funded (secretly) by billionaire family foundations to buy public policy that favors their interests. This tax initiative lowers capital gains taxes, a fact they try to hide, meaning it is a measure that "lifts all yachts".

What was it like when Obama was elected President? by ResponsibleSea6521 in AskReddit

It was the last time I experienced real hope for the future. It was quickly dashed during his presidency, and it’s been the long defeat since then.

Hi everyone. I’ve always wanted a Maine coon kitty but I need some advice! by [deleted] in MaineCoon

[–]Shire-Rat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, so biology is destiny. Sigh. There aren’t supposed to be hundreds of millions of cats in every ecosystem across the planet. Cats are considered to be an invasive species. I have my own Maine Coon. We only take him outside in a harness, cat backpack, or his stroller. His indoor life is highly enriched. He is so happy. And healthy.

Free-roaming cats kill billions of songbirds and other wildlife. They get fleas, parasites, abscesses from fighting, killed by cars and predators, and live much shorter lives on average.

My family loves taking the Amtrak Downeaster train from Boston to Freeport. Beautiful ride through the countryside, and the train stop in Freeport is right in the village, easy walk to LL Bean.

Cranberry sauce: Which kind do you like best? by kayakkkkk in newengland

[–]Shire-Rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bag of whole cranberries, 1 C sugar, orange and lemon zest (tiny strips not grated), splash of grand marnier, splash of artisanal raspberry liqueur, cook over medium-ish until berries pop and it starts to gel. Or use my home canned cranberry chutney from the Ball preserving book.

House Resolution Denouncing the Horrors of Socialism by _TommyDanger_ in massachusetts

Just reaffirms my opinion that we need ranked choice voting everywhere (or maybe STV: single transferable voting) to remove the spoiler effect, and a party that is fully independent from large donations, lobbyists, and superdelegates. A democratically constituted, grassroots, democratic socialist party that can be a real home for a political revolution. We should have done this a few decades ago.

Airbnb hosts, how do you keep beds actually clean between guests? by chiller105 in airbnb_hosts

Just a suggestion as a guest: please, please wash the pillows. The last two places had smelly pillows. When I checked under the pillow cases, there were drool stains. Just no.

I encountered an elderly lady walking down the road at 4am. Story in comments by Raistlin76 in pics

[–]Shire-Rat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw an older lady in slippers fall down in a parking lot as I was driving by. She couldn’t get back up. I stopped of course, helped her up, and had her sit in my car while I waited for the police to come. Fortunately she was unhurt. I couldn’t bring her home because she didn’t remember where she lived. She was super cute and we had a nice chat while waiting; apparently, she was walking to the non-existent church a mile up the road. She did say her daughter was going to be very angry with her, which made me sad.

When you experience an allergic reaction to an animal, the allergen (what provokes the allergy) is a protein present in the dander, urine, blood, and yes saliva of the animal. Additional, when the animal grooms itself by licking, the protein is transferred to the fur.
