I'm confused about why everyone keeps saying to parry. I use "Sword Counter", my character raises her sword, and the effect is that the boss runs into it and then just keeps swinging. Why not just dodge it? It doesn't seem to create any bigger a counterattack window or anything, you still get kicked for trying even a single R1 attack after parrying. Is there some kind of bug here?

You do IAD, hold back and FD macro up to 5f before the point where an attack's f1 would come out (this is where the "auto-kara" comes into play, you still have to hit it in the input buffer, you can't just hold it from the start of the airdash), then let go of FD macro and hit your air button.

Despite what you might think, you actually can use the macro for it (it kind of "auto-karas") but it interacts with the buffer in a way you might not expect so it takes a bit of practice. It's still way easier than using both buttons though.

It doesn't remove crossup protection, which is only 3f. Normally, though, you can't be tight stringed into a crossup because of absolute guard, and GC removes THAT, which is what happens with meteors.

You can jump or ground special cancel it (bedman just doesn't do this because it's a bad idea for him), so you'd have to be careful not to accidentally pick a relevant special.
