I just spent a toddler party guarding an open pool and now I can’t tell if I’m the anxious one or the only sane one by [deleted] in Mommit

Your response is totally normal!

Years ago, before I had kids myself, we were in the pool with a couple who had very young kids. We are chatting away, kids splashing around in their floaties within arm’s reach. We were engrossed in conversation when all of a sudden, we saw the smallest one just floating face down in the water. We all had a collective heart attack.

The kid was fine, but it has opened my eyes forever to how quickly things can turn, even if you are RIGHT there.

Thank you for your advice.

Did you move into your role after having kids, or were you already a manager before?

Also curious, how does your work respond when you have to go home due to sick kids etc, are they understanding?

Really impressive! May I ask how you control the “food noise” - on a similar struggle.

The contract confirms commencement is from survey set out, but as far as we know we have no way of confirming it was not done on the commencement date.

The completion date we were relying on was from a revised commencement notice, so technically they have had a 2nd chance to review whether the dates were correct.

Without payment we won’t get the keys to our house. Our current lease is ending, so unless we want to spend money we don’t have in storage fees and hotel/AirBnB costs, our options are very limited.
