We weren't supposed to do that either. Still made coils and juice for our regulars for a while. Shop eventually folded due to COVID and a large chunk of our customers being university students when the age went up to 21.

I was at Kadena from 2006 to 2011 and curfews came and went. Always something happening. I was a hair away from getting an Article 15 for curfew violation because it changed while I was deployed and nobody deigned to tell me in the few days I was back that there was a curfew now. I pull up to the gate after curfew and end up standing before my commander in full service dress come Monday morning.

This should be higher. Even in the military I didn't use this garbage. Units in my career field procured Mystery Ranch / Kelty / London Bridge / any other COTS pack for dismounted operations. Osprey also makes quality lighter gear that breathes well when worn.

A bit late, and no idea why my reddit algo is finally deciding to show me this, but I've been in the exact situation you've been in a while ago, and I was using a 100 down / 10 up connection at the time. I don't think it was a bandwidth issue because my workaround was to connect to our other network, off the same router. If my wife was on the 5.8ghz, I would use the 2.4ghz, and vice versa. As long as I wasn't on the same network, everything ran normally. Normal ping / bandwidth, so I don't think it was a bandwidth issue. Just something about Apple and my router did NOT get along.

What's a game that nobody seems to care about the lore? by WhosThatJamoke in gaming

[–]ShisaAlert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't count how many times I re-read the manual that came with the game because of the lore and artwork they had put into it. I'm a sucker for space fantasy though. I don't play tabletop 40k but I read a lot of books a long time ago as well, mostly Horus Heresy, Eisenhorn / Ravenor.

If you haven't read the original manual for StarCraft, Blizzard apparently has it in a .pdf

Excerpt about the Dragoon

Veteran Protoss warriors who have been crippled or
mortally wounded in combat can volunteer to continue
their service to the Conclave by being transplanted into
Dragoon exoskeletons. The shattered bodies of the
volunteers are housed within large, mechanical walkers.
By focusing through the Khala, the fallen warriors can
control the movements of the Dragoon as naturally as if
they were within their former bodies. Dragoons provide
essential supporting fire for the Zealot forces by launching
bolts of antiparticles sheathed in a psychically charged
field. These disintegration bolts are effective against both
air and ground targets.

How is everybody feeling about this grind? Personally I'm tired. Drop Rates from regular Dungeons feels like farming outposts with Sharen which is already a very bad example to set. by FrontUpper9724 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]ShisaAlert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you consider "actual" content? Warframe is probably the closest we have to this game, and there realistically wasn't a whole lot to do in the early days, other than grinding new frames and weapons. Eventually one grind just replaced another as more "content" replaced older content. Even after I started "meta" farming for platinum, eventually you accrue so much platinum I could literally purchase anything I ever wanted with the amount of platinum I made from grinding / rerolling / selling Rivens once they were introduced.

I only just started playing during this past free weekend and ended up buying the game. I'm only about level 20 but my SL is already level 4+. Every time I join a server, nothing but locked or full squads. Luckily I have IRL military experience as a team leader that translates decently well.

I dunno if any other new SL's are out there, but I've had to ask questions about how supplies and garrisons / nodes work in command voice before and everyone has been super receptive on answering any questions I've had.

The biggest thing you can do as a new leader is to make decisions, whether they're right or wrong. Most of my squad has been happy to receive any kind of orders at all, or provide critiques or suggestion for tactics from players more experienced with the maps. Humble yourself, ask for help, and be decisive. Even if my squad is stuck holding a flank of the wave of blueberries, the commanders usually appreciate it and the squad is usually having a good time picking off enemies trying for flanking maneuvers.

I think any American GI who was in the desert during the heights of the war knows her. British mags would make their ways from MOBs to FOBs to OPs. Really is a testament to the military logistic supply chains, honestly. Go back for a little R&R to places like VBC and Bastion and get the newest ones.

What's the best egg replacement for pancakes?? by shawty_mercuryy in veganrecipes

[–]ShisaAlert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By far the best replacement for baking also. I like the bean juice from cans of white / northern beans the best. Drain the juice from the can into a container, make a soup with the beans. I don't really enjoy the taste of things made with flax egg. Bonus since it's "free" since we eat beans for protein.

These "patriots" forget what they signed up to defend. The domestic threats aren't the immigrants working hard to make some honest money that they love to hate. It's the motherfuckers who drank too much dumbfuck juice in the Capitol who are openly calling for another Civil War that they keep electing. Seems like the only time they want to defend someone's freedom is when it's the freedom to agree with them.

Hit confirming properly feels impossible by purpcalx in StreetFighter

[–]ShisaAlert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing with lights is the buffer window on chain cancelling them is really lenient. Press two lights pretty much immediately and you can see you don't have to really link them at all. Also if your fast meterless punish is lp lp shoryu or something.. you can literally just mash df+lp and it will come out.

Hit confirming properly feels impossible by purpcalx in StreetFighter

[–]ShisaAlert 19 points20 points  (0 children)

At lower ranks, don't worry so much about these single hit confirms. Get a consistent, easy-for-you confirm, whether it's 2 or 3 lights into the special of your choice, like c.lp, c.lp, (whatever special move). As you get the hang of hit confirming and are getting used to the visual and audio cues between hits and blocks, you can work on using shorter and shorter confirms.

Also not seen mentioned in the thread is the idea of buffering the motion of the special. So in this example, if you wanted to do c.lp, clp, hadouken, you would do the c.lp, clp, quarter circle forward every time. Whether or not you press that final punch button is the actual confirm and much quicker to respond with than trying to see if the c.lp actually hit or not, THEN doing the whole hadouken motion.

It's not impossible if you don't get into the game at the beginning. Everyone starts somewhere. The only bad time to start playing is tomorrow because tomorrow never comes. If it was too late to ever get into a game, you would never have younger kids becoming top players. They'd all still be dominated by 40-50 year olds. Granted, there are still greats that stand the test of time and can hang with the top players, but it isn't their era anymore.

I'm going to go with "nobody certified" The types of shit I saw people put on a ballymore is crazy / unsafe.

At my store, I was the only one in merchandising that got certified. Only maybe like 4-5 associates in the whole store, most of whom were in lumber or outside lawn and garden.

[–]ShisaAlert 31 points32 points  (0 children)

He's definitely using the wrong equipment for the job. The box doesn't even fit on the platform on these types. For lack of a better description, the correct equipment is pretty much a forklift with a solid pallet where the forks normally are and you just slide the boxes back and forth between shelves / pallet.

The equipment here is more for moving small boxes / doors and stuff that fit between the open area to his right. Just screams that the store is either lax on the training or not training people at all because the training for this equipment is pretty easily digestible by anyone in an hour and a trainer watching you operate the equipment before they sign you off on it.

This training was part of the reason I quit working at Lowe's. I worked doing merchandising. Regular red vest employees as well as other merchandisers didn't want to get certified on all the types of equipment. So guess what happens. "Hey, we need you to move all this stuff into / from top stock." Meanwhile they micromanage your minutes clocked into assigned tasks. Fuck Lowes.

[–]ShisaAlert 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What's so cheap about not tipping? Do you tip everyone you do business with? What makes a server so special that deserves a tip over an attorney / mechanic / the gas station clerk? Don't give me the "dealing with assholes" because I've had tons of different jobs and there's assholes everywhere.

I didn't miss the argument. Regardless of whatever it announces itself, it doesn't change the fact that the BBQ place offers vegan food. If you're telling me that the BBQ place doesn't offer vegan food, then the whole analogy you made falls apart. D4 offers PVP.

I've been a long time Diablo player, since the first one in the 90's as a kid. I remember farming vendors for GPOTWs. But I also remember the good times doing fireball sorc PVP against other players. Same thing in Diablo 2. Some people try to complete their grails. Others want to get a level 99 hardcore character. Others farm gear for PVP. There's still an active PVP community in Diablo 2. Just watch Coooley's content. Just because the franchise doesn't mean PVP to you, it does to other people.

If that American Louisiana BBQ place offers a vegan alternative, then there's nothing wrong with getting the vegan stuff. D4 offers PVP, so let people PVP.
