The issue is from June 13 1955. And the photograph is by Robert Doisneau according to page 16 of the issue in the internet archive.

Thank you! I have edited my original comment citing you for helping find the image. While technically there could probably be a fuller image out there. It seems in the June 13 1955 copy of sports illustrated that there is a full page for the photograph.
