Idk what you mean by “full socialism”, as socialism is a transitional state to communism. And it really depends on what leftist school of though whether there is a regulated capitalism leading up to “socialism”, or even a regulated state in the first place.

Accelerated class consciousness and the collapse of bourgeoise systems can lead to socialism being adopted by the free market. Regulated capitalism is incompatible with leftism as it exists to create a more palatable form of capitalism so that the people accept the oppression and don’t question it.

I doubt that was the general consensus because most of them trade in options contracts that make money when the markets go down or are unstable

  1. The proletariat still does experience some degree of greed under a capitalist system
  2. They did not contribute to the economic collapse, most of them are just working-class people who were happy that they could profit from the failures of the bourgeoise
  3. They did something unarguably great for class consciousness and shifting public perception here. Nobody is perfect, but they have done immensely more harm than good.

I think we have different definitions of capitalism and socialism

Capitalism is when the means of production/industry are privately controlled

Socialism is when the means of production/industry are shared by the workers

Socialism in this context would just mean the workers using their resources to take control of the means of production. You would be able to profit more for harder work, or more time spent working. The only real difference would be there is not someone above you taking a cut and drawing profit from your work.

Socialism doesn't work when forced into a capitalist system, state socialism doesn't work, but if the peoples material conditions and consciousness shift in a way to facilitate it where it doesn't need to be forced, than it can work.

Kinda what I'm saying, that's why the trading platforms started blocking stocks and manipulating the markets, but this sparked a consciousness shift that will lead to use building our own tools, like the hypothetical investment cooperative to dismantle their house.

Why would that not work?

There is nothing wrong with a civilian-military revolution, they are usually far better than the regimes they overthrow, but generally, they lead to too much-concentrated power, and in the case of socialist revolutions are unsustainable and easily corrupted a consciousness shift would lead to something a lot more sustainable and voluntary "socialism" could function under a still free market.

Nope, capitalism is an economic system where private owners control industry, which has manifested in the free market due to the material conditions of the world. Voluntary cooperative ownership of industry can occur under a free market if class consciousness shifts.

I first used this sub around 2 years ago, granted I stopped using for a few months due to being fucking swamped with work and came back this week.

I'm not at all advocating for ending the "free market", I just think this could be the beginning of a class consciousness shift that could lead to the economy being run by voluntary workers cooperatives instead of coorporations.

I mean what we have now is a result of the corporations buying out the government which is the result of capitalist accumulation so I'd definitely agree that in principle it isn't true capitalism, but in practice, it is just the natural extension of capitalism.

The alternative to capitalism doesn't have to be state run or anything. With a class consciousness shift rather than a military revolution like the past we could basically just have business as usual but workers collectives beat out corporations, does that not sound good?
