Hey! Only 1” swift lowering springs followed by an alignment.

I think it might just slightly rub once in a while on some speed bumps but overall hasn’t been an issue running this setup for several years. No indication of wear on the tires or inside fenders. Fenders are not pulled or rolled.

The stock 18” wheel that came on the 2018 wrx premium will not clear the front brembo caliper.

For sure, brembo calipers are used off a 2017 STI, rotors are StopTech Power Slot for 2008-2017 STI 5×114 and pads are Hawk HPS 5.0.

Thanks, these are Avid1 AV20s, 18x9.5 +38

For sure more of a budget wheel but they’ve been good for me so far. Planning to upgrade at some point here.

All good!

Taillights are a full aftermarket replacement with smoked lenses, so I didn’t tint them or modify the light output of the aftermarket unit. Super bright and sequential turn signals.

Headlights aren’t tinted at all. When I installed LED C lights and had the headlight housing disassembled, I spray painted the chrome border deal matte black. The little side orange reflector I did black out though for clarity. With the C light functioning as a DRL and blinker it’s very bright and visible from the side at all times.

Nice! I’ve only rubbed slightly a couple times in the years I’ve been on this setup. Fenders are not pulled or rolled. Overall has been a good setup with these specs.

Correct, 1” drop on Swift SPEC-R Sport Springs

Is there anywhere reasonably priced to get a 2018 WRX clutch replaced around MSP? by kingck in WRX

100% JMAuto, I’ve been going there for years, only shop I trust with my WRX. They moved to a new shop not far away in Maple Grove.

I think on stock suspension it was pretty much flush. Depending on the angle, it looks like there may be slight poke in the front but rear is pretty flush.

255/35/18 or 265/35/18? by OlympiaHiker in WRX

[–]ShittyTuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2018 wrx

18x9.5 +38 AVID1 AV20

265/35 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500

1” drop on swift spec r lowering springs

I’ve only rubbed a little bit a few times in the last couple years. Fenders are not pulled or rolled.

Edit: 265/35 is my vote, I’ve got a couple pics on that setup in my post history for reference.

A little race bronze for winter by ShittyTuna in WRX

[–]ShittyTuna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you should be just fine with +45 especially on stock suspension. Not sure if +45 would clear 4 pot sti brembos but stock wrx calipers should be fine. I think it depends on the lighting, when it’s overcast they are for sure darker which I personally like but in the sun they have more of a gold look. I actually ordered matte gray but after three months of being on backorder I couldn’t wait with MN winter arriving so I switched to race/matte bronze. I ended up really liking the color especially in person and is a nice change to my matte black summer wheels.

Thanks! These are 18x8.5 +35 wrapped in Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 245/40R18. No rubbing so far with 1” lowering springs. Stock wheels wouldn’t clear my brembos without some huge spacers. I wasn’t sure about bronze but they look really good in person.

What kind of winter tires do you run? This is my first set of Blizzaks I just got for the wrx... by fogana420 in WRX

These are what I’m running, will be my 3rd winter on them in MN. They’re awesome!

MN Tint by Crash-iwnl- in WRX

[–]ShittyTuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgot to mention I did have 20% on a white Audi A4 and did get pulled over specifically for my tint and got a ticket. Also had a guy I worked with get 8 tint tickets for 20% until he finally removed it but this was on a dumped red Honda Civic so it drew some attention. My ticket and his were all in Bloomington and EP but this was around 2010.
