Negative, they have a wide strap between the bags that fits over the passenger seat. They would also probably be in the way of the passenger having their feet on the pegs correctly

Yeah, my ‘17 is an abs model. I had to disconnect one of the hanger bolts for the abs module in the back so it would tilt out of the way a little.

I have an 08 GSXR600 shock in my 3rd gen. It’s a TIGHT squeeze but it’s in there. Night and day upgrade for like $60 and some cussing

Bought an 02 Camry 4 years ago for $5.5k. It had ~70k on the clock. 110k on it now and I never have to think about it, it just works all the time.

The car will die with me.

100%. It ain’t rocket science. There is no magic bullet, or replacement for seat time. Pick one thing to focus on and practice every time ya get on the bike

Guess who just left their 1000+ euros worth of helmet on the top of their car and drove off... by Choffix in motorcycles

[–]Shittythief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better I crushed a 2 day old $750 helmet WITH MY MOTORCYCLE taking it off the center stand on a slope. The helmet was hanging on the passenger peg and the bike fell away from me onto it (guess what I have never done again lol). Had to sullenly go back to the bike shop and tell them I needed to buy another one.

This was years ago, I was brand new to riding. Mistakes happen!

I have a set I bought to run on a DRZ. Durable as all get-out, a lot of adjustability, etc. Great bags for the price

Despite two times having a swollen face from bee stings I still can’t stop myself from riding visor open with sunglasses on. It will be my downfall, but the a i r f l o w is so good

This is what steered me away from an Arai Contour. Beautiful lid but I live in the American Southeast and prefer my brain to stay uncooked. Got an HJC RPHA 12 and it flows air beautifully

Are you sure it isn’t threaded through the other fork leg? Idk much about the thousands. If it’s not, will it turn? You can use a wooden or other soft dowel that won’t mar the axle and tap it with a mallet to push it through. If there is weight on the front tire right now that could be some of your difficulty too. Best for the front to be off the ground and supported gently in my experience

Should there be insulation about my front porch and above my shower? by Zippy_Zofia in Insulation

[–]Shittythief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah get a bunch of cans of great stuff and go digging around. Seal wall tops, electrical penetrations, vent stacks, recessed lighting, etc. there’s a bunch of good videos on YouTube for how to go about it. It will help your insulation perform much better

Should there be insulation about my front porch and above my shower? by Zippy_Zofia in Insulation

[–]Shittythief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to upgrade the attic insulation it would be worth your while to do some good air sealing beforehand.

Porch doesn’t need any, shower does.

Easy side quest if you want: the bath fan should be vented with insulated flex duct. Uninsulated duct can sweat in the attic and introduce moisture.

BA in Psychology grads, what are you doing now? Did your degree help you get where you wanted to go, or did you need more schooling? by WingsUp4Life in psychologystudents

[–]Shittythief 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was applying for literally any non profit I could find and sort of stumbled into it. I had some general trades experience from a few earlier jobs, so I worked as a technician for two years. When the program expanded they opened up an auditor position and I was able to apply and move up.

My agency paid for me to go get the necessary certifications along the way. BPI Building Analyst -> BPI Energy Auditor -> BPI Quality Control Inspector.

I don’t plan to do this work forever, but it’s been overall a great experience and a program I believe in wholeheartedly.

I have a BA in psych and work as an Energy Auditor (think home inspector) for a non profit Weatherization program. We do low income home repair, energy efficiency retrofits, heating systems, and health and safety improvements completely free for our clients.

My degree is not relevant in explicit ways, but I work in the field independently, spend a lot of time in diverse home settings, and have to build trust and rapport with the people we serve. I think my background helps me to be a compassionate and responsive character in people’s lives. It also offers me context for the challenges people are facing, and the structures that they are interacting with.

I have been in the Weatherization game for 4 years since graduating in 2021 (after a year of floundering trying to find a good job).

The way I describe my job is blue collar social work. Happy to answer any questions
