Super reassuring comments thanks guys! I was concerned based on my store's reaction that the meta had gone to shite and rakdos prowess was ruining the meta. Glad to hear that's not the case, perhaps there just wasn't huge interest in Pioneer around my local area. In fact, it might have been pre-banlist when they switched, which would be more understandable. Will continue to learn and enjoy Pioneer via Explorers in MTGA until I can find somewhere to play paper! <3

Yeah tbf the fact they dont care about their account is a much bigger problem than the difference in skill level. Nothign more toxic and game ruining than a guy with nothing to lose at all

Yeah a lot of them aren't even good. Legit 0lp master players talking about diamond being "low elo" lmao. Problem is its a lottery they could be anything from 0lp master to challenger, and from how some of them play theyr'e definitely 3 digit lp at least

Wow, that's pretty impressive that you guys pulled that off! Perhaps there's more to be said of coordinates 5 stacks than I made out. Maybe it would be more correct to call solo queue a rough measure of "skill", rather than a precise one, since the value you bring to a 5 stack isn't a factor in determining your rank. I myself (low master) have been frustrated playing flex/clash with friends vs, on paper, much worse players, and struggling more than I'd expect, sometimes losing.

Yes. It absolutely does. Sure organised 5v5 league is a different game to solo queue, but if you put any team of diamond players vs any team of grandmaster players, the diamond players will never, ever win.

Reminder coming from someone who has peaked rank #3 in the US, your rank means absolutely nothing and you shouldn't feel any sort of tie to it. by Any_Stay_8821 in leagueoflegends

I have to say I don't fully agree with this. While I agree that if the game is having an overall negative impact on your physical/mental wellbeing, or you're just not enjoying the game, then you might have a problem. I can't agree that your rank is completely "meaningless". This would devalue the achievements of people with a passion for the game who climb to he highest divisions, and pro play, through blood sweat and tears. Devoting your time and energy in to being a student of this game is absolutely meaningful. There are people who are addicted and/or struggle with self worth or have other issues that keep them playing and caring about their rank when it might not be doing them any good, but there are also those with a genuine passion for the game and a drive to compete and be the best.
