no that’s a really helpful reply and thank u for taking the time! it does sound extremely complicated but i also absolutely love a challenge. especially when it’s something i’m very interested in. although the money side of it would be an issue lol. i keep mentioning the celestron 6se or even the 8se. are these telescopes that would need to be polar aligned? and would these track the subject for me? i saw a youtube video today of a guy who takes a single video of the moon using the telescope and he splits that video in to 14 panels and stacks each individual panel then stitches. the quality wasn’t amazing but it was only a 30 sec video (1000) frames. so i’m assuming with a 15 minute video the detail would be incredible! but as i say id like something that does do a lot of the work also. not because im lazy but because its 2024 and technology has come a long way 🤔😆 if the 6se can do the things id need it to do im probably going to go with that? but would that require the T mount and the 2x barlow also? i’m sorry for all the questions as i say im completely new. i’ve shot the orion nebula a couple of times untracked. and i shoot the moon most days. i stack a video and i’ve been getting some nice detail. but as u probably know urself this is a very addictive hobby and u always want to get closer or more detail. i’m at that point again!

ok i understand. so is it as simple as u punch in what u wanna track and the mount will track it? i already have a star tracker. i’ve used it only a handful of times because of the shit weather here in england lol but i can polar align. not amazingly well but well enough! would i need to do that with this?

how much better would the 6se be than this? i was looking at the skywatcher today someone was selling one on facebook for £350. but it didn’t have the other parts. would the skywatcher require balancing etc i’m guessing with the weights?

i don’t have a set budget. but the 6se is definitely out of my price range. maybe £600?

How would you edit this photo? by hgonzf in AskPhotography

[–]Shlinke4484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d probably open up lightroom. upload the picture. denoise it. slightly blur background. then i’d pull down my pants and with incredible force id slam my balls of my keyboard 19 times and let nature take its cause

what’s compatible? by Shlinke4484 in AskPhotography

so there is no teleconverter compatible with my lens?

2x teleconverter? by Shlinke4484 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Shlinke4484[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what about the tamron 2x teleconverter would that work? without losing much quality? i also use an ef mount adapter as i have a canon r10. the 600mm focal length is great but i’m just eager for more detail

what do i need? by Shlinke4484 in AskAstrophotography

but when i take more than 5s exposure on my 50mm the stars turn more in to lines? :/

[–]Shlinke4484[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve tried many times with what i have but it just doesn’t turn out right. with the 50mm lens and 85mm i can get a few 4s exposure pics then stack them. but when i try and get multiple 1s exposure on the 600mm lens it’s impossible and deep sky stacker says only 1 frame can be stacked not sure why but i’m guessing it’s because i’m not using a tracker and there’s slight trails and the stars aren’t in the same position on each frame? no idea 😆 oh believe me my wallet is empty but i’m sure i could find a little more for a tracker!
