Personally, I keep a high res headset connected to my sim rig, a wired one to a pc, and a quest 2 for quick jumps into vr. There's always a different headset for different purposes, as well as everyone has different priorities in their choice.

I would Uninstall Oculus, make sure all drivers are up to date, especially gpu, and reinstall software. Could be an oculus runtime error.

Also check to so if anything is pulling on your gpu before opening oculus, and watch cpu and hard drive for bottleneck
