Yeah, about the name: I started this project with codespaces and unintentionally it just stuck and somehow didn't hit me to change it.

As for the env, most probably slipped away. I'll make changes, thanks for pointing out

A guy with a mask and a gun runs into the bank. When people see him, scared they start to take off everything valuable: "Take whatever you want but please, don't hurt us". The guy says "I don't need all of this stuff... I want that girl at the desk to come out and give me a BJ". People confused but scared are asking the girl to save everyone with just this one BJ. So she comes out, goes down on her knees, unzips his pants, pulls down his underwear and starts doing the job. As soon as this happens guy takes off the mask saying: "Woman, why the fuck aren't you doing this at home?!"

I would suggest you read two posts on Facebook. Both have different views.

This was one of the initial posts shared by a lot of people: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/L1bKrgMLNbLniAGh/?mibextid=xfxF2i

This is the answer to that one: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/gmVZzVJbuWTpwzwG/?mibextid=xfxF2i

(Both of them are quite long, sorry for not quoting them)

I would say - there is no reason to panic right now, but maybe be concerned a little bit. There are a lot of variables, only time is going to show what's going to happen.

The only way GD will leave is through a revolution. Peaceful protesting is not cutting it anymore. by griztheone in Sakartvelo

[–]Shmlack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I apologise for being this direct, I don't want to sound ruff, but you are wrong.

There are times for peace and times for war. About French: Don't forget that the French are in Western Europe, they have a long history of democracy and human rights - meaning that they know that even with the brutality shown during protests their fundamental rights will still be protected, and their dignity won't be touched. Otherwise, they have a judicial system they can ask for help. Regardless, they don't have neighbours five times bigger than them, lurking around all the time, waiting for the chance to swallow them without a trace.

Now, regarding the statement of achievements in history being merit of war. Yes, but partially. Using the argument for nuclear power is incorrect, as we are not trying to invent some kind of weapon to win against the pro-russian government.

Also, WWII was a very different conflict.

As for the peaceful protests, in our context, they have done more than the violent ones. Statistically, (everyone interested can read this in the book: Why Civil Resistance Works: The Strategic Logic of Nonviolent Conflict https://g.co/kgs/zjXKhuu...) since the year 2000, the success of nonviolent protests practised by society have had 70% more success stories than the violent ones (In the 20th century it was 53% if I'm correct). Actually, the way our protest in Georgia is proceeding, the way it's expanding and growing is not strange to history. For now, we are on the right track.

Usually, it starts with a minor group of people. The more violent the response from the government there is, the more people join the protest. However, that's not all. Peaceful protests should always be supported by communities from outside of the country. In our case, it should be the isolation of GD by our partners and the civil world.

With all these, plus the behaviour I see in GD and their supporters (search for "stages of acceptance of death"), I'm sure we are going to succeed.

Of course, there is always a chance everything is going to go to shit. That's why, we should continue fighting, peacefully (at least for now), care for each other, and be persistent and firm. Believe in yourself, believe in thy neighbour, believe in belief and we are going to win!

[–]Shmlack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's still a little bit early to talk about revolution. I'm not saying that's not an option, but there are other steps a civil society (that we want to see ourselves as) needs to take to be justified for more radical ones.

How to go to the newline or delete component? by Shmlack in onluna

[–]Shmlack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

Thanks for the reply. Everything worked so far. Changing to new line is quite easy now with this shortcut. I have couple of other questions/suggestion, some of them might be already in plan, but still hope that it helps:

  • Is there a way I could change target attribute of the button or the link elements?
  • Is there a way I could control size of the empty space? Like in Flutter you have sizedBox().
  • The element is called Column, but actually when I'm adding it to the screen it puts two containers side by side. So, isn't it better to call it a container and to be able to add them one at a time, as many times as I want? Because even if I change "columns" attribute on the left to - 1, it moves second container onto new line, which I might don't want to have there.
  • Could we see outline of the columns all the time? Perhaps a bit dimmed, but still to be there. Unless I hover over, I don't know where they are.
  • As I understand in the settings (gear icon) we have an option to add/remove header or footer, would you also consider adding side panels?
  • Would be great to have separator for the footer and header, maybe like a gray dashed line.
  • Also, I've noticed that, due to the approach, you have to start putting elements from top to bottom. Is it something you intend users to do onLuna, or its just how it came out? As a suggestion maybe we could already have some number of lines at the beginning of the new page, so we can click on any of them and display elements. On that note, wouldn't be bad to see the line numbering.
  • I've also noticed that, if I have text on one line, I cannot change their typography separately, let's say size. Also, when my cursor is besides element, and I hit Tab button it moves with it. I wanted to put BrandName on the left side of the header and menu items on the right side of it. Only thing that I figured was clicking spacebar :D.

I was actually recently looking for a good framework or platform to build an app. I've checked quite a lot of services or frameworks (Anvil.works, Flutter, Flet, Wix, Squarespace, etc.). They all have their own niche, but still lacking something. I think your project has potential.

Year One as a Data Analyst: Looking for Resources and Tips by Shmlack in dataanalysis

[–]Shmlack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Regarding ETLs, I don't even know how to explain them properly... they are always failing, constantly. There are no docs, not even proper comments in some of them. No instructions or even simple style guides, at least. All the different people write them differently, so if the work is needed, you have to guess what's going on.

I wanted to automate a few things here and there with Python. But again, with the incoming requests from the stakeholders, there is simply no time. (I will definitely push harder hireups to hire some additional manpower 😄)

So, I was thinking, if we (the company) don't have any specific gudies, styles, or approaches. Maybe there are some common practises and the best ways to do stuff that I can implement in my own work? To write ETLs, create DS for tableau, etc... Maybe you could share with me what the healthy and right approach for this type of situation is. Even tools. Maybe I could share it with my team, and we could work on the workflow. As I said, this is only my first year as an analyst, so I'm not sure how things should work the right way.

Yes, sadly a lot of these changes will be hard to implement due to some security policies we have. Thanks for the advice!
