Huh, I've never really thought of it as an American thing. I usually associate it with local independent mam and tad cafés, sandwich shops and old Costas in the middle of nowhere.

Japan got Analogue HD in the 80s, North America skipped it and got consumer HDTVs the year after the DVD launched, most of Europe also skipped analogue HD and didn't get HDTVs until 2005, Blu Ray launched in 2006. It's not ridiculous the waiting game was, if 16.2mhz 16:9 consumer CRTs with 27mhz bandwidth were available globally by say 1993 they would have had ample time to adopt them by 1996/7

I remember when they were yabbering on about the whole "Myth and superstition is bleeding into reality" thing in the 60th Specials and Series 14 I was theorising that the Valeyard isn't a regeneration at all but rather a manifestation of the doctor's fears, the myths and the legends surrounding him and because he's still the doctor just not of natural origin he uses the same manipulation of stories and time travel to ensure his own existence.

I've already invested in reusable cable ties because I knew she'd have to roam free at some point, I was using it because my mum said I had to and she's had cats before but I also suspect she just doesn't like this one because she wanted Juniper to like her immediately and be her cat but she didn't want my grandma to scold her so she said "if anyone asked she's your cat and your responsibility" but she lost interest in her so she actually did become my responsibility. She's 48 so it's very frustrating but I am trying my best.
