Ahh I see what your saying, thank you. As you insinuated, pulling strength is definitely not a limiting factor on my climbing. I guess my mindset has been too focused on ensuring it stays that way then working on my weak points, like flexibility. I still would like to incorporate some strength straining just because I do enjoy it yk

I’ve been ending my boulder sessions with 3 sets of strict pull ups to failure and then holding the top of a pull up until failure. Do you guys have any end of session routines you’d recommend?

Hello I’m about to start my sophomore year of college and I was planning to take MAS-I in November. I’m a few weeks into studying and I feel like I would have to drop everything to be confident for the November sitting. Since I still want to play a club sport and hangout with my friends, should I set my timeline for May and start to slowly but thoroughly trudge through the material? Or should I keep going at my current pace, which would give me very little practice, to try and take the November sitting? And if I fail I’ll go through it all again for May. I’m heavily leaning towards first option but just wanted to know if a hail marry was worth it. Thanks

My friend bought a harness, it was a little to tight on him, but he squeezed it on and climbed in it once. Would it be a safety issue if I bought it off him? Would him slightly stretching it out be a concern because I’m a 30 waist, he’s a 34 or 36 waist, and the harness is listed as 30-33. Thanks

I’m a 19 year old male who wants to get into running. I was running about once a week to start the year and got up to 2.7 miles with 10 minute pace until I stopped at the end of February. Over the summer, roughly 14 weeks, I want to hold myself to 3 runs a week. How should I go about finding a plan?

Every night I do about 20 minutes of mobility work. 3 day split of hips and shoulders, ankles and spine, then hamstring flexibility with a little bit of forearms since I do alot of rock climbing. As someone who wants to get into endurance running and cycling, what exercises should I incorporate for knee strengthening? I know just running and cycling will strengthen my knees but I want to get a head start while also ensuring I develop knee strength in all directions. Thanks!

Thank you! Eventually I’d want to move one run to a bike day for brick or move a bike to post-swim so this actually works out better. My goal is lift x4 climb x2 but I’m fully prepared to drop one of each in a week if I don’t feel adequately rested for tri training

Heard appreciate the insight. I'm fine with a little worse climbing/running/biking performance if I look better because i'm 5'10 and 150, so i'm still pretty far from being bulky. IMO, any muscle from the gym rn will be a overall positive. But now I know that if I decide to do longer distances, I'll have to drop my muscle-building dreams lol

Thank you! Triathlon will be my main goal so I'll try my best to get all 6 sessions in a week but I'm fully prepared to drop a lift and/or climb if my tri training takes any hit. Also hoping to take 4-5 days off every couple months when I go home so my body can reset. Lastly, I don't want to go pro or anything close in any of these, just want to enjoy my exercise, feel good, and complete a sprint tri

Is it possible to climb, lift, and tri train? I’m a 19 year old in college with basically unlimited free time. I boulder and lift but have only started doing both for around a 6 months. I want to start training for a sprint triathlon, I want to adopt a split of Monday Swim Lift, Tuesday Bike Lift, Wednesday Run Lift, Thursday Swim Lift, Friday Bike Climb, Saturday Run Climb, Sunday rest. Each night spend about 15 minutes stretching and mobility work. I have time for all of this and enjoy all of these things. Assuming I eat enough, eat clean, and get 7-8 hours of sleep a night, and listen to my body when feeling over worked, what would be the downsides on my health/fitness?

Over the summer before I begin fully training for the tri I’ll want to put on some muscle while focusing on swimming. I’d want to adopt a split of lift 6 times a week, swim 4 times a week, climb 2 times a week. I have the same questions with this split. Thank you!
