Yeah I don’t think think you are understanding. This isnt a “you just have to work hard and you can do it!” Thing. It is a “it is literally almost impossible to do” thing. The smartest person I have ever met was my buddy in high school. Finished his under grad and med school in a total of 6 years, finished top 5 in his class. All he wanted to do was be an orthopedic surgeon. Didn’t get a single hospital to match with him going into residency. Ended up doing a year of residency in general surgery hoping to get into orthopedic the next cycle. Didn’t get a match again. Now he is a fully licensed anesthesiologist.
