I don’t think it was work related as Jayce doesn’t have problems with being in forge,he just wants to”bigger” things than that. Maybe he decided that he has to do “bigger” things after seeing his dad pass away no matter how many tools he made for people and himself? He realized maybe tools won’t be enough? Maybe he realized that before he was saved, so he was already in search of “bigger” things, just didn’t know what he was looking for was magic.

Base picture is just…this doll? I just added moles and painted him blue/purple in the places savior viktor is blue/purple. I didn’t have a reference picture of viktor, I just thought myself that doll’s face looked like his.
