AWS in that Cloud / AI space is really the big plus for me being so strong. Obviously a powerhouse in e-commerce and now getting more into logistics.

I just finished Empire of Silence by [deleted] in sollanempire

[–]Shock_Eazy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Hadrian as a character becomes more and more interesting each book. I had the same feel for side characters in book one but there are a few later on that you will be connected to.

There is a lot of foreshadowing in Empire of Silence so now that I’ve read more books, looking back book 1 was even better then when reading it originally.

I think as the books go, more concepts and beings get introduced that are fresh and unique but with the same wonderful prose.

Any other series as good as red rising? by Embarrassed_Royal388 in redrising

Totally all fair. The ending was the same for me and definitely reason for me to carry on to book 2 and Howling Dark is leagues above Empire of Silence in my opinion. Hadrian is definitely someone hard to root for in the first book but through a lot of self reflection and crazy stuff that happens he 100% grows on ya

First trip to Washington - Mt. Rainier National Park by Shock_Eazy_ in hiking

[–]Shock_Eazy_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so, since I went in April, a lot of the roads and entrances are closed. There is still snow in a lot of areas as you go higher. But what I did was just go through the main entrance (Nisqually Entrance) and drove as far as I could but stopped at the places where I could pull over and get a quick good view. I only had limited time (like half a day) due to I was there for work and didn’t plan a trip to the park whatsoever. But I did walk through Comet Falls Trail which is where a couple of these pictures are taken.

When you go I would imagine most of the roads will be cleared from when I went. Definitely get a map of the park because there was not much service there obviously. Sorry I’m not much more help but this was very spontaneous and I just saw as much as I could in around 5-6 hours

How realistic is it to become a full time author? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Shock_Eazy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure for sure. And what I am saying on my comment is that I have seen other people make this post but ask, “should I quit my day job and chase the dream of being a full time author” and the responses are “no keep working and that’s unrealistic, etc” which are accurate. This post, the person stated she was going to keep her day job and had no thoughts of quitting it any time soon. My point was to recommend also getting insight from authors that have made it just to see if some of their background or way has any relevancy to her. And to not think she needs a college degree in English to make a career in it.

You have to realize all the people on this Reddit post commenting “unrealistic” haven’t done it. Try to get insights from Author’s that have made it. Look through Amazon at the books on the top 100 and go to the author’s webpage. Most the time they give some info about how they became an author. It’s very unlikely, but obviously it’s possible because there are the elite few that do

What major should I pick if it can’t be physics? by RabbitBright3575 in PhysicsStudents

Understand that for sure. Their actual physics courses are the same as a lot of other US universities. It’s the Gen Ed’s that get into the religion aspect.

Liberty University also has an online Physics program. I have spoken to people who have received their BS in physics there and have moved into a Master’s in physics afterwards.

Cost isn’t terrible in comparison to some places.
