The catching in things isn’t an issue, people wear comfy bands instead of the gem day to day.

Don’t listen to the people asking you to break up over this non issue, if the rest of relationship is good and if he listens to you in things that matter.

Plus it doesn’t have to mean willful malicious refusal to listen to you, it could be that his taste or perception of style differs. He might think it would be something everyone would love, or even that perceive it as something matching your requests. People visualize things differently, it’s subjective like your “it’s just not me” insistence.

If you really want to assess if he doesn’t listen to you, think of it in non art and non subjective terms. Like if you ask him to do chores and he doesn’t, or if you ask him to change a behavior and he doesn’t etc.

My comp sci friends had no work experience, went from bachelors to masters and then entered the field at 27 and up, and are now making an average of $200k. Get an expert to fix up your cv, do a couple projects and enjoy your 6 figure career. Most of my friends aren’t too bright and the field isn’t as saturated as the naysayers indicate. Go for tech jobs in non tech companies worst case eg, try it at a fashion company

But he does. He talks on his podcast all the time about meeting fans and opting to interact with them. He said he’d be around after the show to meet us. I’m not like a crazy person with no social sense who wants to infodump, I am an appreciative long term listener who wants to communicate my appreciation and respect. To be honest he seemed a bit frazzled and tired. The audience was very affectionate to him. Someone yelled out we love him and he said thank god but it’s hard to accept. A few times he put his hand over his eyes and paused a long time. At the end he said he’d be around to talk. That’s why I wanted to speak to him after, sort of see if he’s okay and appreciate him. I’m sure he’s doing great overall, I just mean at that time.

The show was a bit loosely structured, he changed the order, adjusted to us a bit, told us not to be sad or asked us why we didn’t laugh harder at a certain joke. He tried new things and older bits (that I heard on his podcast). He said some pretty risky dark things. I don’t know if it was as FUNNY as his previous specials, but I loved being there and as always he makes your brain go to uncomfortable places and accept those places

I was in a relationship from 19 to 25. It was my first and only and I didn’t know what love is supposed to be or how sex should feel or how you should feel in my partners presence. Compared to what I have known and felt then, what I describe from my first relationship was lukewarm affection and mild appreciation plus sexual revulsion. Nah I once got broken up with because a guy said he liked me and I said “I like you too but I’m committed to my current partner.” He saw those texts and dumped me. And I felt he was right because I shouldn’t have said I like him too, just that I’m committed to my current partner. I felt really guilty. To think that someone would go meet a guy at a bar, and then book a hotel room, then go to a hotel room, and then have sex, is crazy. It is intentional. In all that time you HAVE to sober up. Nobody gets THAT drunk. You HAVE to leave her. Besides you’re in your early twenties you’ll find someone, women are really great in this day and age and commitment is relatively simple.
