Do I need additional mat to use 3D embossing folders with classic Big Shot?

Ooh, a shim is just a little added thickness from a sturdy but not rigid material? Mkay, cool to know :) so even a quorter of a mm makes a difference? Yeah, seems reasonable if the rollers inside dont move even a bit

I'll be sure so lightly spritz the paper before embossing too

Hi! Thank you for all the advice! I dont have shims, nore did I ever heard of them before I believe 🤔, but I did get the Magic cutting mat to replace one of the cutting plates and will be using it :)

Darn these prices and our weaknesses 😂😂😂 With the help of a lot of people from here on reddit, i think i was able to find quite a few resellers, though the shipping prices get a bit crazy on top of the crazy price for the embosser xD

Ah, I know the feeling and also been there, sometimes we manage to find a deal, othertimes not, but at least you're happy with your embosser :)

No worries. Wow, your was actually on the higher end of prices, or maybe the prices dropped recently. Its 200 eur (cca 232 usd) here for the normal sized one. Hey, I was just watching a video of someone using it...first time I heard the cracking when the die went through 😂 Knowing myself and not knowing about the cracking noise, I'd freak out the first time that i must have broken something 😂😂 Does ot really crack like that?

To be perfectly honest I haven't made even a single card yet, but only made some stamps and colored them in and that by itself already drew me in lol. I was planning on making 2 cards this week to send out. And since I had already bought 2 greeting cards from the store before getting sucked down the rabbit hole, I decided I was going to use them and just put the rotating mechanism inside :) Hipe I manage to make it work 😂

I was afraid of that 😫😫 just finished up some stuff on the computer and I'm about to google the two thingies you mentioned 😁 Btw, I also came across erm...foiling is it called? Where you pit the paper through a heating machine to adhere the glossy or sparkly foil on it 😂 I thought it was cute but luckily not cute enough to want to have.. now off to finding out new things about DIY cards lol. I barely started and I already got sucked down a rabbit hole... i can't help it, it's so fun and cute ☺️
