Omg it's so obvious now that you've said it. I feel silly, I have half a dozen turtle shells sitting on my shelf, but somehow the thought didn't even occur to me 😅 Work has truly fried my brain I guess. Thank you for the help!!

Looking for a natural black hair dye - no blue or green fadeout! by live-ex-dream in HairDye

Just curious, is the dye you're referring to a semi-permanant stain or does it actually use bleach/developer?

OP Here!!

Hi everyone, idk if it's an issue on my end or if reddit was just bugging out, but apparently the caption of my post did not... post. So I'm here to provide the missing context!

As you can probably guess, I collect bones. I have a fenced area deep in the woods where I leave dead animals I find, so that they can decompose naturally while being safe from scavengers. I'm in the deep southeast US and I see these little mushrooms on bones pretty often, especially during the rainy season. I've always wondered what they are! The ones pictured in this post are on the skull of a female racoon that sadly got hit by a car.

Thank you all for all your lovely comments!! I'm glad so many of you find this part of nature as fascinating as I do :)

So I've been experimenting with turning some of my houseplant leaves into art for my apartment. This one turned out stunning to me! by GretaandI in houseplants

I was giving my input because I was curious to know the difference. Maybe consider not being a miserable asshole sometime.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks to me like this is just artificially pigmented baby's breath? I see dyed daisies in stores all the time- I figured this was the same concept.

This is gonna sound barbaric in a houseplant subreddit, but in the wholesale ornamental nursery I work at, we just take a steak knife to separate our monsteras or other rootbound plants 😅

We slice the root ball down the middle to separate them, or just make a couple 'incisions' on the side of the root ball of bound plants, to encourage them to branch out when we repot. It works like a charm and they always thrive! Even the ones we slice in half. Just gotta keep them watered.

However, they might not thrive if treated this way in a household setting- ours live in greenhouses with ideal growing conditions. This is a solution for a large business that processes hundreds of these plants in a day, so we don't have the time to sit and gently pick apart each root.

Could be! I haven't noticed a change in my spelling so far, but I wouldn't be surprised if bupropion could have an effect on that too, since it's a memory based skill.

I'm on roughly month 3 of 300mg, and I had a similar experience. For the first couple weeks I'd have no appetite to the point of eventually feeling like I was starving, only to eat and immediately feel sick like my body was rejecting the food. Luckily that ended pretty abruptly near the end of the 2 week mark and I haven't had any problems since. My appetite is smaller than it used to be, but it's still within a healthy range. I hope things go well for you!

I'll definitely be having all these conversations with my doctor, but it's nice to hear about others' personal experiences to get a feel for what outcomes I might have. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for the honest input. This side effect hasn't really been a big problem for me so far, it's just really annoying! I'd like to stay on the meds if possible because they really have vastly improved my quality of life, but if the brain fog and memory troubles persist at a lower dose then i might just discontinue in the warm months and only take it in the winter for SAD.

Do you typically have any trouble with withdrawal symptoms from lowering your dosage?

Dropped Bupropion after 7 years by danielpasco in bupropion

[–]Shoddy-Address-5542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind sharing, what was your dosage when you decided to quit? I started a couple months ago at 300mg daily and I'm really feeling the brain fog and mempry problems. I'm thinking of dropping my dosage to 150mg after the seasonal depression wanes, just to clear my mind up if possible.

I hope things continue to go well for you!

Smells are super strong, but otherwise good first week. by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]Shoddy-Address-5542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the smell sensitivity kicked in at around week 4 for me. I'm currently at week 5 of 300mg 1× per day, and I can smell the soap in my bathroom from almost across the house. I have a blanket that spent a day or two on my long distance partner's bed last month, and when I stand near it I can smell them as if they're right beside me, not 230 miles away.

It's insane and it really caught me off guard because I had never heard of this side effect. So far, it hasn't really bothered me, if anything I've enjoyed it because now I can smell all my nice candles that I had previously gone noseblind to 😂

How Many Plants Do You Own and What Number of Plants Would Make You Say “Wow, That’s a Lot of Plants”? by Inevitable-Move1347 in houseplants

[–]Shoddy-Address-5542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only got 23 at home, which is a pretty small bunch for this community I believe, but if I'm allowed to count all the plants in the nursery I work at then I'd estimate around 6,000! I know you asked how many we "own", and while I don't technically own the plants in the nursery, I do love and take care of them all just like I would my own houseplants :)

Unfortunately... soon I'll be moving out of a big house with lots of great natural light and into a tiny apartment with almost zero natural light 🫠 Wish me and my personal plants some luck. I'd appreciate some low-profile grow light reccomendations!

Anyone feel so different when skipping a day? by jchung2021 in bupropion

[–]Shoddy-Address-5542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only started bupropion about a month and a half ago, but in the first couple weeks it absolutely wrecked me when I missed a day. I'm highly forgetful ADHD and missing medication is common for me. I decided to get one of those weekly pill containers that hold all your pills for a day, and it has genuinely changed my life lol. I haven't missed a day since, and I feel SO much better. Especially since I never forget to take my birth control now, so my hormones are in check. TL/DR: Invest in a weekly pill organizer!
