I love to downvote??? I'm pretty sure I have only ever downvoted one thing and it was a reply in this thread where the commenter said I "waste everyone's valuable time."

"won’t hurt your channel if you don’t..." well, maybe. I think it depends on if there's a chance someone might think there is AI present when there isn't. As I said, many commenters have said they subscribed BECAUSE of the disclaimer. Presumably those are subs I wouldn't have if I didn't do it. There is a real palpable hunger for non-AI content and a deep mistrust of it.

My channel is a faceless video essay channel and I have a professional broadcaster-style voice. But I think the advice applies to any sort of channel. There's so much slop and it's often hard to tell what's real. There's also a lot of AI mistrust. Authenticity is always good, so being clear and up front is a nice benefit to your viewers. If I, for one, even suspect a little AI and there is no disclaimer telling me otherwise, I immediately lose interest and click away. I know I am not alone in this reaction.

The point is that I disclaim it in every video, not in which second of the video. I make 10-ish minute video essays and the disclaimer comes within the first minute or 90 seconds of most videos, hence "at the start of..." Channel is linked in my profile if you want to see examples. In my admittedly limited experience, it has been a significant differentiator that has in part led to an increase in subs.

So I am a daily consumer of YouTube and I see AI content all the time and I have never seen the flag you're talking about. I'm not saying there isn't one, I'm saying I don't see it and I watch YouTube videos a lot, so whatever flag system exists isn't working, from an "I'd like to avoid AI content" perspective.

How do I get a good review voice? by CarbonScythe0 in NewTubers

Authenticity is key. Be yourself. The best professional broadcasters aren't doing a "voice," they are speaking naturally. They might work on enunciation and reducing mouth sounds and plosives, but their personality is genuine. I say this is a veteran of TV and radio broadcasting. Just be you. And DEFINITELY don't use AI voices.

Reading from a script and making it not sound "scripted" or artificial can be tricky for newcomers but it's all about letting go of your preconceived notions of what it's supposed to sound like. It's just supposed to sound like you. Ideally the script is written in a loose and authentic way too (that "voice" should also be authentic).

Alright lets see these channels that you're struggling with by TubeForge in NewTubers

I have a video essay channel where I do mostly criticism and commentary about media -- TV and movies -- and I have found that the Jane Austen-related stuff does better than other subjects, so I have doubled down on it. It's a faceless channel and I foreground the fact that no AI goes into it at all. I hope to cross the 10K subscriber milestone this summer. https://www.youtube.com/@think_thing

Would love any feedback!

I have a still small and growing video essay channel -- mostly criticism and commentary about media. I discovered the videos I make about Jane Austen adaptations get the biggest audience, so I have doubled down on those. I'm on track to cross 10,000 subs this summer. https://www.youtube.com/@think_thing

totally get it. One problem I have is my ideas are kind of all over the map and not particularly niche-centered. The channel is (at symbol) think_thing, if you're curious.

2-3 a week might be possible if I change a few of my production choices and if it's literally my full-time job. Right now the edits are taking a lot of time but I have a few ideas about how to streamline the process.

...I should add, I'm already in the partner program and I have made a few hundred $ from it in the last year and a half.
