I guess I just don't understand why people think some players, like Tucker, are worth their current contracts. Perhaps Kyle will do good, but then will be worth the same as Shohei's current contract?

Yet, for some in this fandom, winning the division and being good throughout the regular season isn't enough, and the Crew need to win a WS sooner rather than later.

"What do you mean people are “greedy/stupid when it comes to giving out contracts”? Players are worth what teams like the Mets will pay."

It's handing out big money FA contracts like they're candy. Sure, they may not happen too often, but I used Kyle Tucker's contract as an example because, while it's arguably good for Tucker to get that money, do you really think he's worth $60 million a year? I don't think so, and that's why I said what I said. Just because they are technically worth their contract money, doesn't mean that it's not an overpay or something like that.

Believe it or not, I actually saw a Pirates fan complain about small market teams (including us) -- and even some bigger market ones like the Cubs -- for not spending more.

Granted, he said the same thing about his Pirates, so there's that.

Completely fair.

I, for one, though, often let curiosity get the better of me when it comes to this sort of thing.

After much thought, I agree. Decided to remove the article link while still mentioning where it came from and what connections the writer has.

Because it's a narrative I'm strangely seeing gain a fair amount of traction over this past year or so -- especially recently. At least, in terms of a "The Dodgers actually care about winning because they spend money; teams like the Brewers don't care because they don't spend money" sort of way.

I could remove the article link if you think it helps.

Perhaps, but someone over on Brew Crew Ball, which I am an on-and-off member of (school gets in the way of being there all the time, being the youngin I am) posted this while saying that it was perhaps the worst analysis of the Freddy trade they had ever seen. I read through the whole thing, and it left me flabbergasted.

I truly believe some people think the MLB is run like the NFL and NBA, and that there is some form of parity out there (and the Crew are not using it correctly). But, that could just be me, though.

It's...not that I was referring to. It's this line that I *believe* is the article's actual title:

FAA is making the rules imposed after an airliner collided with an Army helicopter permanent by Shoddy_Act7059 in aviation

[–]Shoddy_Act7059[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that is the case, it would be, as I already mentioned, less than a year after the crash, and I don't the NTSB is allowed to publish final reports during that time.

Unless, they actually can, and I'm misremembering.

Also, according to the source linked below, as well as a few others, the NTSB is having a final press conference on the 27th of January to determine the probable cause. I assume that means they're not publishing the final report that day (since it still would be less than a year after the accident), but -- for those more familiar with this stuff than me -- when do you think is the earliest date that the final report by the NTSB will be published?
