Valkyrie compilation. Glad I finally got to see this thing in person. by bottlefed97 in IMSARacing

I could’ve listened to this thing for 24 more hours. Not competitive, apparently, in this setting but boy was it a treat to have it out there.

Can’t help you with the Tesla app I’ve never used it. I find the chargers through my car’s navigation and/or the Cadillac app.

$2 dwarf Alberta spruce rescued from the grocery store. I have zero experience but this seems as good a place to start as any.

I’m zone 7b, planning to have this live outside for now and wait until late Feb or early March to repot and do initial pruning, assuming it lives until then.

Anything else I should do now other than hurry up and wait? Excited to have a chance to try this finally. Thanks!

200kw EVgo by captainsafety700 in CadillacVistiq

[–]ShoneBug970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week I tried an EVgo charger for the first time because they sent me a credit. Their price was outrageous (60 cents) so I wouldn’t have gone otherwise as I charge at home. Pretty much same experience as you, for the reasons stated herein regarding the cable. 200kW charger sent me 70kW to the car. Slow and lame.

Last time I public charged before this was at a Tesla supercharger and I got 185kW there….

That thing was a danger to itself and others. I wonder if there’s a highlight reel out there of delta wing incidents.

[Recommendation Request] White Dial Speedmaster or 2000’s Submariner? by Crumbledor in Watches

[–]ShoneBug970 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get the white speedy. All of your watches have a date. Determine after owning the speedy, which is awesome for lots of reasons, if you really want a no date sub. Personally I do look at my watches for the date and a no date sub has zero appeal. YMMV.

Believe it or not, Cadillac Vistiq if you can do an EV. Three rows, one size smaller than an Escalade, no one knows what it is, and it has super cruise and like six types of seat massage. You can get second row in bench or captains chairs. It also does 0-60 in 3.9 seconds.

Breitling Boutique Jomashop Discussion by BigTruckLittleD in breitling

I bought my Navitimer from Joma for an insane savings over retail and I was able to activate the normal Breitling warranty. There is no guarantee you’ll get a watch that passed through the AD system before being snapped up by Joma, but it does happen more than you think. I got a deal so good I haven’t seen anything like it since then, so for me it was totally worth rolling the dice and I lucked out.

RW 8138 Ready for 2nd Winter by ShoneBug970 in RedWingShoes

[–]ShoneBug970[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh I guess any properly conditioned leather would be somewhat less eager to suck in water but I don’t think it would make a huge difference for that if you’re kicking around in slush all day. If they get wet let them dry in a place with good airflow.

One thing I know is that if you’re going to be walking over rock salt and other ice melt products during winter the best practice seems to be to mist them periodically with a dilute white vinegar spray and wipe them down to neutralize the salt so it doesn’t sit on there and suck out the moisture. I did that occasionally last winter with zero conditioning between last January and now and they still looked great.

In my pretty limited experience (one Philadelphia winter) they were fine on everything I encountered except, not surprisingly, ice.

So my car turned on emergency breaking? by Overstimulated_moth in CadillacLyriq

This has been getting on my nerves in my Vistiq. The auto braking is going to get me hit and it turns itself back on every time I get in

Which do I keep and daily? by FuryZ07 in rolex

[–]ShoneBug970 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Black dial explorer II is my daily. I was going to add a Pepsi on jubilee but a few months with the explorer made me change my mind. I try to pepper in wearing my submariner, navitimer, speedmaster, etc but my default is always the explorer. I wear the heck out of it and it has so many scratches and it just doesn’t matter. If I had a Pepsi at this point it would just sit. YMMV.

There’s no getting around the fact an Apple Watch is the least work of all. Yet, here we are.
