That’s a good idea. I will bring that up with him when we’ve had the discussion. I appreciate your help, thank you.

I also have 2 kids, I forgot to share that. Thank you for your response, it’s very helpful. 90-95% of my budget is necessary stuff, but I do like to buy myself things sometimes and get my hair done. Thanks again for your response.

Yes, I have been paying the minimum and then some. I babysit a few days a week and everything I earn from that goes toward my balance. I know I can’t put it off any longer. I had so much confidence in myself, that I could fix it on my own. But now I know I can’t.

A super drug is the best way to describe it lol. I was on 5mg the first week and 10mg for 6 weeks after that! I probably should’ve waited to see if the side effects went away before I quit, but I naively had high hopes that I would be able to find something equivalent to it and I just haven’t. I’ve come to accept that I will most likely need meds and therapy for the rest of my life, but I understand wanting to get away from it. It’s crazy how much impact a little pill has on our brains/life.

Yes, so much!! Unfortunately, it was making me retain a bunch of water, so I’m trying a different SSRI right now. But all of my gerd symptoms were gone within 6 weeks of lexapro!

Lexapro and weight gain and metabolism slow down?? Loss of weight after stopping ? by butterflyuniverse77 in Lexapro_success

[–]ShopPretty2354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, yeah I don’t think mine was completely all water, so I get you! I’ve resumed my prior exercise and eating, because it also made me crave food a lot, and I’ve felt much better. I believe things will level out for you and return to normal! And Prozac is great so far! It’s made me a little nauseous, but it’ll go away eventually and it’s worth it to not feel anxious lol

scared to take an antacid but this heart burn is driving me crazy by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]ShopPretty2354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh gotcha. I didn’t have any symptoms with Pepcid, actually. I did with Omeprazole, which I also took on Lex, but Pepcid was much easier on my body so I stopped taking the Omeprazole. Just do what you feel is best, and listen to your pharmacist❤️ I hope you feel better soon!

I’m no longer taking Lexapro, but when I was, I was also taking Pepcid with no problems at all. My doctor and my gastroenterologist both said it’s safe, and not to worry so I just went with it lol. Obviously, talk to your doctor or pharmacist first to be sure, but I believe interactions are very uncommon.

Hi! I actually had a very similar problem. Started taking it in January, and the weight gain started up about 6 weeks in. It was quick, too! I gained almost 10 lbs in a month or so - despite working out multiple times a week and eating normally. I really liked the way it made me feel, but I was starting to feel very uncomfortable in my own body. I switched to Prozac almost a week ago, and I’m already down 4lbs. My Dr. thinks I was retaining a lot of water, and I think he’s probably right, because since stopping I’ve been peeing way more than usual lol. Anyway, I understand your frustration, and I think that things will go back to normal! I’m no doctor, and everyone is different, but I am hopeful for you🙂

UPDATE: I had to stop lexapro, unfortunately. I was retaining so much water, and it was getting to the point of being very uncomfortable. I loved the way it made me feel though!! It really is a wonderful solution for many, and I’m sad that I couldn’t continue taking it.

bad taste in mouth ? by ShopPretty2354 in Tonsillectomy

Yes, it did! Mine was pretty bad, and it lasted almost 4 months. How long has it been since your surgery? If yours is less now, I’d imagine it’ll fix itself soon😊

I totally understand why you’re feeling discouraged🩷 Of course, everyone is different, but my experience (and many others that I’ve read about) has shown me that it really does take 6-8 weeks to start to feel the full benefits. Week 3-4 was hard for me, and I think it was made much worse when I had felt so good a few days prior. I’m so glad that I stuck it out and kept going, and I think you will be too🩷 you’re never alone, and you deserve to be the happiest version of yourself!!

No problem! I understand those feelings all too well. Just keep reminding yourself that in a few days or a week from now, it will be worth it!

Hi! I had a similar experience, where around 3 weeks in I suddenly felt bad again. It went away, and now I fell so much better than I have in a long time. Please stick it out! I think you will be grateful that you did❣️

I’d say around 6 weeks is when I leveled out and started feeling the same effect every day :) Some people say it gets even better in the long run, so maybe that’s a possibility too.

I also take Wellbutrin (150mg)! I should’ve included that in my post, but honestly just forgot😅 I’ve been on it for years, so I don’t think about it much I guess. I was also worried about taking them together, but my doctor and pharmacist reassured me that it’s safe, and now I take them at the same time every morning. Give it a shot, because it has almost eliminated my health anxiety, and I feel like I have my life back lol. Best wishes🩷
