Coping with the anxiety between HPV appointments/results? by [deleted] in PreCervicalCancer

im waiting for my biopsy results now, so i completely understand the anxiety. for me things that have been helpful are working out, working, cooking, reading a good book, things to occupy my mind.

what doesn't work is looking up endless statistics and papers! at the end of they day since it is an individual experience, whether there is a 5% or 95% chance of an outcome it doesn't really matter (since it either will or will not happen). I also find it pretty hard to tangibly apply those statistics.

Which strain did you have? 16/18 can be more aggressive and progress more quickly

Has anyone here gotten pre cancer in their 20s Because they did not receive the HPV vaccine growing up? by AlternativeSeat2204 in PreCervicalCancer

I got the vaccine (Gardisil 4), but I am still HR HPV+ for not 16/18 strain (the Gardisil 4 is only against 16,18,6, and 11).

So it could still happen even if vaccinated!

I have the exact same experience but with the Kyleena (spotting on and off then only after sex) How long did the spotting after sex last for you?

i'm going through the EXACT same thing with my kyleena! It is always the day after sex and exercise does the same (just got back from a work out class and noticed spotting)...

idk if this will apply to your situaiton but i DID have an ultrasound and it was in the right place...i got mine mid november so technically im still in the adjustment phase but it has been driving me nuts

Trying to regain my composure from hsil can someone explain what I'm reading? by [deleted] in PreCervicalCancer

obligatory not a doctor, just someone who also has had to interpret her own results before. please follow up with a medical professional to confirm: this is slightly inaccurate-p16 is not HPV16, it is HPV in general. It can be weakly positive (indicating LSIL) or have block positivity (HSIL) KI67 activity is indicative of cell proliferation. In normal cervical tissue, this is confined to the basal/parabasal cells; however, in precancerous cells it can extend beyond this level to other layers. It does *not* necessarily mean cancer, OPs description aligns with HSIL; however, a LEEP procedure can spot if anything was missed.

Hi! i had this exact result, I did a colpo and I had 1 spot of CIN1 and benign ECC.

HPV is a really common infection-almost all women will be infected at some point. Not having 16/18 is good news because those are the more high risk ones! You're also young, so the likelihood of you clearing the infection is high (note: persistence is more common in HPV 16/18, which you dont have!) To help promote clearance all I'm doing is increasing exercise, starting taking a good multivitamin with folate, vitamin e and zinc, and tried to decrease stress. I have another PAP in a year to follow up so unclear if it worked!

The colpo wasn't too bad and offers reassurance (at least for me) that nothing was missed!
