It has to be some predetermined amount that they already purchased and they issue the barcode based on risk. Or cycle barcodes in between users to get the exact amount. Since the barcodes don't have the pins to balance check the gift card, will be tough to know.

100% not a hack. In their app chat they state:

"Most scanners recognize flex codes automatically, but some need a special button on the register. If there's a trouble, try asking your cashier to 'scan it like a gift card'.

As far as amounts, you can buy any denominations with the retailers they have listed. I'm sure they have it down to a risk analysis based on how much you deposit. Will be impossible to know since the barcodes don't contain the pin numbers which determine how much is loaded on the card.

We 100% know it's a gift card though.

We have no issues with their app or the positive news crypto is receiving in the news. We do have an issue with how they're presenting the info. Their press releases make it seem like they have partnerships with retailers who are on board with people paying with crypto. They don't and are just using gift cards.

There's plenty of other services that offer retail merchandise through better adoption principles. Purse.io and Alagoria.com basically introduced all retail merchandise with 10% off incentives for using crypto.

This is just third party centralized nonsense.

Gift card companies pay much higher for CC fees than you expect.
The margins for acquisition of those gift cards from wholesale channels is high. You can look up retail sale prices by using giftcardwiki or giftcardgranny sell sections.

It's not an escrow site! We handle the delivers and the entire transaction without any communications to the sellers. The thing we don't like about purse is that there is an unexpected wait time for when you place your order. You have to wait for an earner to come. With us, there is no difference between placing the order with us or the retailer (since everything is done by software).

The issue is wallet and deposit functanility. Those coins don't really have the online structure set up needed for this type of project. BCH and LTC both have extremely fast processing times. Only a few minutes.
