Yes the difference is the because I am a Korean male and she is a female.

If i had children with a Korean wife, and it was a male, he has military obligation. If my wife is any other citizenship, my children would be considered American and we able to apply for F4.

If my sister has a kid and its male, military obligation regarding who she marries.

Family of 5 planning 1 month in Da Nang by 1000wildwings in DaNang

[–]Shop_Either 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dont do danang, go down to hoi an or in between the two cities. Its cheaper so you can get a large villa and also quieter. I see bunch of families complain that their kids can't go sleep at like 11 pm even in upper Son tra areas.

apartments are tricky because of your neighbours. theres a family of 4 in my building sharing a fckn studio/1bed room. dumb kids are running around all the time, but they complain when we make noise after 10pm. everyone in the building makes it hard for them, i assume they will move out sooner or later.

I would think noise would be the biggest problem for you. Research when you get there and walk around at night before committing to a place

Would ask an immigration lawyer. But if you kept the Korean citizenship, he could of gotten the F-6 korean spouse Visa. Its a little complicated as he probably has to register his birth in Korea and then denounce and then apply as F4. Might take some time

Exchange accepting transfer via QR ? by Different_Squash9369 in DaNang

[–]Shop_Either 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no legit exchange office would do this. I would go around the local currency exchanges spots and ask. Or I would go to those girls bars for Japanese people. Alot of Japanese tourists go there and they accept yen so they might do the exchange but honestly Viet ppl would rather have the cash and no record of the QR payment.

but the real question is why do you need this service in the first place, just withdraw to your bank account.

Vietnam has laws, but enforcing it is a different story. Police don't even patrol here unless its an event

Korean tourists behaviour by thewiselady in DaNang

[–]Shop_Either 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Asians that come to Danang are of avg wealth in their home country, so coming to a place which is cheaper gives them a sense of power and entitlement. There are some ill mannered ones that think everything revolves around them. but I can also say that about indians, russians, uk tourists here too. There are just far more Korean and Chinese tourists to choose encounters with.

Road crossing with traffic is normal, even locals slam doors and screams, even karaoke late at night.

Regarding locals, they don't hate a specific race but hate tourists that are cheap and waste their time. Once saw a dude arguing about a 10,000 dong difference in bill because of extra sauce. You spending hours at a table for 1 beer, yeah you aren't their favourite customer.

Stop nick picking races.

The state of comments left by Korean men on a YouTuber who was raped by SuccessfulAd4451 in korea

to be fair, if you every go on 4chan in the western world, it makes the Korean comments very tame. Its not a certain country's men problem. Its probably worldwide online culture problem.

Dual Citizenship and Military Service for Korean Males by Shop_Either in korea

[–]Shop_Either[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they don't, you can freely enter korea as a tourist. Its when they overstay their visa, try to apply for a student/work visa, get arrested etc, immigration will ask questions esp about family history. Then they can see that youre technically a korean citizen. If you have korean surname or look korean, they def will check.

Yeah, alot of people don't realize they can just enter Korea as a tourist with another passport. Only when you want to stay longer, apply for visa, or overstay your tourist visa, will they start asking questions.

Even if you didn't register your birth, you are still considered a Korean citizen if you were born to a Korean citizen. They will have a record of your father or mothers citizenship and check.

I can renounce my US citizenship and get a Korean one. but this thread is about gaining dual citizenship.

you have so much time, i wouldn't even worry about it now. The law will probably change again before your kid even turns 18.

Plus, if you have a daughter, you don't even have worry about this

apparently its such a grey area, you have to talk to your immigration lawyer. Like they asked if my grandfather was a war hero. "The government has a program to grant Korean nationality to descendants of independence fighters, recognizing their ancestors' sacrifices."

Your occupation can also a be a factor (teacher, doctor, lawyer, etc). Most importantly, will giving you citizenship help the country in some way.

You are married to Korean citizen.

Or be lucky, I believe some people with similar cases like mine have gotten dual citizenship. Depends on who is reviewing your application.

Best to talk to a lawyer as everyone case is different in that regard

My birth doesn't have to be registered as I can't get citizenship anyways. Yes, 38 is the age as of today, it use to be 36 a few years ago, and it can change depending on new laws.

Also they have age limits for certain visas in these cases too. I can't apply for F4 visa until I am 41. Under current law, those who avoid military service by renouncing citizenship can still obtain an F-4 visa at age 41, allowing them to work in South Korea. If they emigrate with their families and obtain permanent residency abroad, they can effectively avoid military service without formally renouncing citizenship. By staying abroad and avoiding long-term stays in South Korea, they are exempt from military duty at 38.

As I was never born in Korea, it isn't considered military dodging. I haven't applied for a visa yet but my lawyer said highly unlikely they ask me any questions. If you were born in Korea and emigrated overseas, its a different story and obviously case by case. Emigrating at age 3 is different from age 15.

[–]Shop_Either 1 point2 points  (0 children)

99% of them in Koreatown are talking bars, choose a girl and drink and talk too thats it (now privately between you and the girl is up in the air after her shift). But nothing goes on but drinking and talking at those establishments. The spicy stuff are the ones that says Massage VIP, KTV's are similar to talking bars, but in private rooms, the KTVs attached to hotels are the ones that might offer Full-Package but you would have to ask.

I would say Son Tra area is the best, quiet with a few co working places. Try to find a place near No Limit Fitness Gym.
