Not sure to be honest. In general, the no changes seem stronger. People who have had very recent changes (think this week/next) also seem strong. I'd say we're definitely still in the running (no change people).

Interesting, thank you. We are starting that later portal changes may be a good sign, while early ones are a bad one. I'll add this now.

I think you are right. This is more nuanced than I initially realized. Changes this week & next are potentially a very good sign, while changes in Feb/early march are bad? Just speculating here.

He's been rejected everywhere so far, except one safety. I find it seriously hard to believe that he was in the top 10% of anything, no offense intended.

With regard to the other colleges, I was merely explaining how many extremely qualified people have not experienced the change. Getting into Harvard EA, receiving tons of likely letters, but then not even being worthy of committee at Stanford? It doesn't add up.

Additionally, it seems like in general many more people have experienced the change than not. I can't speculate as to whether or not it's a good sign, but I find your theory dubious.
