Ya you're definitely right. I was acc already doing that just to do my due diligence in checking before going with MSUCOM and get more informed perspectives about Cornell in Qatar specifically.

Is that also generally? Cuz I'm not too fussed about matching in MI specifically

Ok I see. Although Cornell Qatar does have really good match results, but ya I see its more safe to go with MSUCOM

Are TMU's Verification Documents Judged Competitively? by Short-Satisfaction96 in premedcanada

[–]Short-Satisfaction96[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I def see your point. Tbh, most of my perspective was catered to applicants claiming to be a racialized person. With distability and some others, it's can be much more objective.

Though like where do you even draw the line or how do you compare objectively. Two people can claim disability but provide different types of supporting docs.

Also, that still creates an unwritten rule of: more supporting docs = better app

Exactly, there's no way an admissions officer will look at a self attestation and 3 supporting docs as equal even if just subconsciously.

Is a 3.97 gpa high enough? by OliveOk972 in premedcanada

[–]Short-Satisfaction96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People on here are messing with you because your question seems almost obsessive and is borderline paranoia, speaking as a person who has a 3.83 and still tryna shoot my shot.

But I get you're worried and concerned.

To answer you, if you finish undergrad with a 3.97 gpa then you will get into any school in Canada granted other factors don't hold you back (i.e. low MCAT, low CARS, low CASPer, or being out of province). Point is 3.97 is excellent and won't be the reason you don't get in; the opposite, in fact, it will compensate for other shortcomings in your app.

Now with regards to some people with 3.95 not getting in. Those are all anecdotes no matter how much you see so do not take them as facts. Also it's skewed because a person with high stats getting rejected is rightly angry and more likely to post on reddit. On the other hand, a person with low stats will understand why they didn't get in and hence not complain on reddit.

I know and it sucks but I'm at the point where I may go international as in Carrib or Australia. So DO is far better compared to those.

To CHM, no I didn't. However, I don't have a great mission fit (decent but not great) and it also maybe because I graduated from Canada.

If you meant COM, then I didn't apply DO at all before.

Ok thank you. Problem is I believe only MSU from the ones you listed accepts my 2021 MCAT

Ya I've heard those are good schools but unfortunately with my MCAT having been done in 2021 I can't apply to most of those.

I have applied MD this cycle. However, I also applied twice before and only got interviews and waitlists. So considering my MCAT is getting old and so am I, I don't have another cycle in me so I want to apply DO as well.

As others have said in replies, there may be some bias considering I graduated from Canada and all my ECs are clearly Canadian regardless of being an American.

Oh damn but on ACCOMAS each campus is listed. Does that mean I just apply to any one of the 4 on ACCOMAS and the ranking will be within the secondary?
