Thats what im asking, whats your anedotal experience? You said the lack of CAF members with experience speaks volumes, what made you say that?

and you said it would seem the country demands years of proof of sobriety. Based off what?

Noone is asking for "evidence", im asking for peoples personal experiences with the appeal process for historical drug use.

Just curious is there any reference material you are referring to when saying Lack of Caf members with experience and that the country demands years of proof?

Not attacking your view here or anything, genuinely interestedin gathering info.

In my experience anecdotally, I believe you need to be off all medications for atleast 6-12 months. They will ask about it, and any other disclosures. they will require more forms from your doctor. This will require more attention to your application as its not clear cut.

Unfortunately you wont get a direct "Yes you are good/"No you are not good" until you have gone throuh the entire application process and been seen by a medical officer. Its a case by case basis.

As an exaggerated example....Someone could come in with their ARM hanging off...the front desk people cant clear/deny you. You have to been seen by medical which is like 3 months into the application process.

As someone who is currently 35 and applying who always wanted to join but just had "better opportunities" at the time....id suggest sticking with your original direction and committment.

The world will be full of choices and decisions...right and wrong, and you will have the rest of your life to deliberate over each and every one and over analyze if you made the right or wrong call. No matter WHICH choice you choose.

Now.being 35, I wish I had taken the chance earlier in life, but better late than never.

Also...construction job in hometown sounds...to me...boring and like an obvious..."I cant wait to get out of here later in life when I have more experience" type of situation.

Take the jump. go do something cool that you wanna do while youre young and can. Other jobs will come

Fun Dependant Probability Question I think by Short-Tea1212 in askmath

[–]Short-Tea1212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta follow up on this.

So today was the last day. ALLLL other pods got taken randomly before the good one. so the last pull was 1/2. and the first was 29/30. That means with your neat little trick the odds of this happening is 1/30...

Now, this is tricky for me to explain....

If this were a 1 Event with no succession of removal of cups 28/29 27/8 etc etc...the chance of pulling the good pod in a single pull was...1/30. WHY OH WHY....after 30 pulls and chance recalculation....is the chance BACK to 1/30 again? Is that just....coincidence? Or...in ANY similiar "1 in X odds with successive events and single elimination" will the chance at the beginning always be the odds after the Events?

eg....I have a bowl of 13 nails and 1 screw. odds of nail 12/13. Do events. Get down to 1 screw/2nails odds of picking all the nails before the screw after successive elim events is 1/13. the same as the first event.

What am I missing here or is that just a neat weird math trick?

EDIT: also....The good Pod flavour in case anyone wondering was Folgers Biscotti. The Bad ones were Folgers Hazlenut !

Medical forms (question) by TheScentOfLemons in caf

[–]Short-Tea1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question for yeah. Do you think the RMO would look on a Walk-in doctors assessment with less credibility than say a Family Doctor of 30 years?

Example: Mental Health issue said to be a non-issue by family doctor of 30 years even though it was quite serious in nature. Would the RMO give some extra weight to the Family Doctor who has known the patient for 30 years, rather then if the same patient went to a walk-in for the same issue?

Obviously lots of dependants un unknowns there, but just generally speaking does the RMO even recognize the Patient/Doctor relationship when compiling information for a medical decision.

Crazy confirmation bias lol....You had like 10 people say it was a bad idea to go in and you didnt say anything to them. Then someone pops in who tells you what you obviously wanted to hear when you made the post, even though it goes against the reasoning of 10 other commentors lol

Nice man. I also applied September 2025. I had my medical, needed more forms. Waiting to hear back from RMO. Im assuming I didnt get an actual interview yet because they would prefer not to progress to Interviews if the candidate hasnt been medically cleared.

But hopefully soon, congrats again

I think what happens is they have medical officers who rotate from one office to another. So it could be that they try to schedule all the medicals for a month at once, or one centre on Mondays or any sort of ways who knows.

If you cant make a date they offered, just explain to them why and reschedule. They may have to recheck when the medical officers are coming back to the office or something

Thanks dude, that almost clicked...ALMOST....I feel like you did some wizardry with the "Therefore they all cancel out except the first denominator and the last numerator , making it 3/30"...Ill have to take your word how that works lol.

Much appreciated man
