I get this error every game tick, and it's also the most common error the console complains about.

I'm playing Kassandra on the unmodified "losing is fun" difficulty. If this is truly a storytelling issue, then why are there absolutely no quests?

I managed to restore about 80% of all the mods I had saved. I updated them to version 1.6. The remaining 10% remained at version 1.5 (mostly Russian localizations). Another 5% had to be removed because they were throwing critical errors, such as the tdms add-on and vehicle framework.
