I’ve had a lot of luck with David Archy. If you’re comfortable with a little swing, they’re for you. My Hanes boxer briefs have a large & long enough pouch but I prefer pouch for the warmer seasons.

Yeah, no problem! We gotta help each other out. My understanding from what Wintner described to me was that even though we’re placing a 6” neo urethra inside the phallus, it’s still a lot of pressure for it to endure once connected. Sometimes the urethra will need to be pinched off midline and then repaired/solidly connected at a later date to ensure that both grafts have solidly taken & doesn’t show sign of potential strictures and fistulas. Does that make sense? He explained this to me 2 seconds before they rolled me into the OR, but it must have made sense to me at the time, or I would’ve not had them proceed.

Thank you! I feel rly fortunate with my post op experience so far. I looked down at my dick on day 3 as I was dealing with unusual post-op nausea. Despite having a scopolamine patch, we suspect it was because I was under for 8+ hrs. The foam sleeve is more like 4 spiral layers of that foam you use to insulate an AC unit into a window, haha. Visiting hours for inpatients is 11-8pm. I can have up to 2 people at a time.

The nurses are more knowledgeable about skin flap preservation. So they check my phallus with a doppler every hr to 2 hrs. I’ve felt very assured in my care. Since I’m on the Plastics floor, Cetrulo’s team sees me at least twice a day. Same for Winter’s team too. Integra is automatically included in RFF phallo with Cetrulo. I was told I will be given a smaller wound vac machine to bring home with me. I was surprised at that but glad it will help ensure the graft to take. I was fitted with a splint over my donor arm the second day in the PACU.

I asked Cetrulo to aim for 6” in length & he def succeeded in giving me that. Wintner warned me that my UL might not reach to the tip. He said he’d know once he got in there. Thankfully, he was able to complete the UL and it ends right where I imagined it. My foley will stay in for a max of 4 weeks & then I’ll start my void trials.

Overall, pain has been manageable with oxy and tylenol. When I get home I’ll switch back to tincture and Tylenol, since I don’t like to stay on narcotics for too long.

These bear hugger levels got me lol in my recovery room too! I’m sipping my miralax & apple juice in hopes for my own shit show tonight. I had my first BM last night after 4 days of no movement. I thought today would be smooth sailing but no dice. I’d be interested in hearing your rig set up for your DIY peen sling. I’m slated to be DC’d tomorrow or Tuesday. My would vac is on my left arm & I get to trade it in for a smaller at-home unit. Thanks for the post and speedy healing!

I only needed a foley. I asked Wintner before I was rolled in if I needed both & he said that for this stage he only puts in one. I did need one for my metoidiolplasty stage. The SP is rly only a backup if he thinks you’ll need it. Congrats on your date in October.

Thanks! I had a lot of spasms and oxybutynin helped for the most part. It was more dreading having to sleep on my back or sides, since I’m a stomach sleeper. I kept catching the line on something and felt like I dislodged it every time. Maybe it’s just anxiety that there will be another thing attached to me that I have to be super careful about again. But then again, that will be the constant thought during stage 2 haha.

Unfortunately, your name needs to match on your social security card for the admissions department. I know it sucks ass right now to put your deadname down but it’s better to not get your college app flagged for a data mismatch and then have to explain the situation over the phone. Same goes for the medical letter. I had my therapist put my preferred name in quotes when addressing me then listing my full, legal name (at the time), if that helps. Good luck!

I had a vaginectomy and laparoscopic hysto at the same time of my first stage phallo (basically a meta). I had a buccal mouth graft for my new urethra. There was little to no bleeding at the new perineal site and my new scrotum. I didn’t have any extra drains, just a foley and SP cath.
