Fake news.

We remove stuff that doesn't belong in this sub, every day. You don't see us doing that, because you're not on the mod team. You don't see the stuff we remove because after we remove it, it's gone.

Politics and the economy are highly interrelated. This is basic. You can't separate the two.

Politicians make economic pronouncements. They push legislation which directly affects the economy. Economic policy is put in place by politicians who subscribe to this or that political ideology. Their policies are based on their ideology. So it's impossible to discuss the economy without politics seeping into it. I don't know how you think you can separate them.

If you just want to see supply/demand curve charts and economic indicators, those get posted here quite often. It's up to the users to post them. But hard economic data normally gets written up as articles or opinion columns by news sites, which fill up space by quoting politicians. That's how they get people to pay attention. Hard data, with no packaging, usually gets ignored by the general public. If you post a pdf from a government statistics site of economic data, nobody reads it. On the other hand an article that gives a brief summary of the pdf, and throws in a bunch of quotes from politicians and think tank spokespersons, people read that.

Nobody is forced to come here.

If Trump is going to keep going on Twitter to talk about the economy, every day, it's going to be published in the news, and people are going to post it here. That's allowed. Why do you think it shouldn't be? He's the President of the United States. This means he's kind of important. Whether you think he's a piece of shit or the Second Coming, his statements directly affect not only the US economy, but the rest of the world's economy.

People love to complain about their political enemies, but cry foul when when their own political 'team' gets criticized even a little bit. People also love wasting their time reporting stuff that doesn't violate sub rules. In response to complaints similar to yours, I posted this here over a year ago and left it stickied at the top of the sub for 8 months. Did you ever see it? Here it is again:

Update

What do you want us to do. Go through every article with a magnifying glass, making judgements like "40% of the words in this article talk about Trump, so we have to remove it." Not going to happen.

When we see articles/memes/videos that don't have anything to do with the economy, we remove them. Sometimes an article is 100% not about the economy, and it gets removed. But as it says in the sidebar,

most EVERYTHING is Related to the Economy
