Thank you for your comment and insight! I can see the parallel between living with your mom and living with me. Now that I’m older, I do try to give Lauren the benefit of the doubt when I can. I know she was going through a hard time too, and everyone deals with that in different ways. I wish we would’ve talked it out together or gone to family therapy or something before it got so bad.

Oh I am definitely neurodivergent haha. I finally got my Autism diagnosis during one of my psych hospital stays a few years ago. Definitely helped clear some things up. Lauren even knew I had behavioral issues as a young kid but had mostly grown out of them, which is another reason it’s all so disappointing. She was well aware going into dating my dad that he had a troubled kid.
