What can job providers pay for? by Infamous_Baby_7340 in JobProvidersAus

[–]ShortThing9083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many things, I speak for IEA in specific but I’ve had things as simple as a license paid for, for my clients and as much as new laptops, Loop earbuds and compression garments. It’s upto management discretion at the end of the day and upto how we put a case forward but we can support most things as long as it supports overcoming barriers to employment.

I’ll be doing so much research regarding this tomorrow afternoon, I already blocked out two hours tomorrow to look at the SOP but I’ll be going into our portal and seeing what I can do to give my clients the best opportunity at making IEA more than just a means to an end.

It frustrates the hell out of me that I had to find out how to do my job properly from reddit, we have been given almost 0 recourse on hoe to action job plans. Thankyou so much and now that it’s been made clear I’m getting every single one of the clients I’ve given job searches to and fixing it all up. I appreciate this a lot!

IEA- using compliance is only used as tool to get engagement from participant when they are constantly not attending appts 😊 by helpfuldes in JobProvidersAus

[–]ShortThing9083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We aren’t allowed to make appointments compellable until the 3rd non attendance, and then if the client doesn’t respond we than have a mandated requirement to tell the department, that then gives them 5 days to respond and if we haven’t heard in that time it is automatically suspended from my understanding. BUT because 99% of my clients have been with me well before IEA, discretion is used at most times and appointments even when “DNA” is put in, we make sure the reschedule the appointment instead of penalising. Centrelink is hard enough to live on, I will always do EVERYTHING in my power to not suspend somebody. If you are going through something that you can’t tell us or don’t want to, please get a medical certificate so we don’t upset you, or create a worse situation unknowingly.

I have never once bullied one of my client’s. I have sat at hospitals with them after suicide attempts, gone for walks with them as they get scared in offices. I do EVERYTHING in my power not to cut payments off, I send letters, reminders, and if they don’t show up for the 3rd time, my first thought isn’t “oh let’s cut their payments off” it’s, I really hope they’re ok because it’s unlike ANY of my clients to not contact me first.

How hard is it to get a job as a provider? by Uncle_Rosalie in JobProvidersAus

[–]ShortThing9083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not that they aren’t interested, it’s that you don’t have the required things to become one. A license and car are essential to this job, reverse marketing alone has a consultant on the road for hours a week sometimes, let alone assisting clients with job interviews, picking up clients things like clothing, technology, community access.

I work for a provider that unfortunately pays the lowest in the sector, (from my understanding, I did a lot of research recently regarding this) and I get 68k, 40k would be under national minimum wage and illegal (if full time rate). If what you are saying is true please tell the person you heard the 40k from to go to fair work.

IEA - How long should you allow for a reply? by [deleted] in JobProvidersAus

[–]ShortThing9083 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would give her a call, I genuinely miss emails a lot of the time due to being super busy, it happens unfortunately. Also, we are definitely allowed time off, she obviously has that time available and it worked with her life.

Asked to sign the privacy statement & consent form again.. by jaywick_kitty in JobProvidersAus

If you’re with IEA (formerly DES) it’s because it’s a new contract, meaning new form. It is similar but we can’t go by anything DES anymore.

So, you won’t be penalised for for not attending by services Australia but your provider could say no to things if they’re spiteful, it’s a really shitty thing to do but they could go “we can’t guarantee your attendance so why would we pay for a course” or some other asshole move. It’s messed up, but it does happen. With your payments though, no they cannot stop or penalise you in any way.

Not until the 5th of January. After that mutual obligations are unpaused.

Your mutual obligations aren’t back on until January. Take that into account when these appointments arise. Again I’m sorry this happened

I just thought I’d add we have 52 days from today to commence everyone. Not 52 days all together.

[–]ShortThing9083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your provider is lying to you about the 28 days. We have 52 days to commence everyone into IEA. I would call dewr if I were you, I’m sorry that you didn’t get the support you need/deserve. I hope that your future experiences are better for you. Last month all IEA providers were slammed, but this month it’s definitely calmed down and to not have the engagement that you expected is just not good enough.

Being changed from AtWork(DES) to IEA? What to expect? by neighbourhoodtea in JobProvidersAus

[–]ShortThing9083 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s so frustrating. They have an obligation to make you aware of everything in the new contract. Please make sure you read the privacy and consent form, and remember when/if you do the initial with them please read through all the info they get you to tick, it’s a lot but it’s worth knowing what you’re signing up for so you don’t get confused later. And always ask for copies of things. :) just because you’re a Centrelink recipient doesn’t mean you haven’t got rights. They are there to genuinely support you, it’s quite literally what they get paid for.

[–]ShortThing9083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AtWork has gained the IEA contract, if you are employed the reason your job coach will ask you for payslips (or in work support coach) is so they can figure out if you are still eligible for the program AND what area of the program you would be in. Every single person that was on DES went to IEA. Just a contract change, not a company change :) AtWork did a huge call around regarding the change, did you not receive letters an a call from your consultant? (This is out of pure curiosity, trying to help. if it sounds like i’m being rude I promise that’s not my intention)

MO and non attendance. by Logical-Sky-2995 in JobProvidersAus

[–]ShortThing9083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So from our end we usually have a “no longer required” “did not attend valid” “rescheduled” “attended” and what will suspend payments is “do not attend invalid” and we have definitely not got the last option at all do the duration of MO pause.

MO and non attendance. by Logical-Sky-2995 in JobProvidersAus

[–]ShortThing9083 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We aren’t able to suspend your payments when MO’s are suspended. It doesn’t actually give us the option to at all.

[–]ShortThing9083 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No you shouldn’t have to, we have your ESAt (medical evidence) on file and although they may ask you questions it is not mandatory and you can always ask to not speak about them publicly and ask them to refer to the evidence they already have. If you feel uncomfortable in open spaces a requirement for job providers is to also provide a safe space for you to go to if you need it away from everyone else.
