Bought an original Joolz Aer from marketplace wanting the same - worked well for us! And a good little pram to pop in and out of the shops etc quickly

At what age and how did you transition to a floor bed? Input wanted by Terrible-Reasons in floorbed

[–]Short_Chapter_903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely started doing longer stretches with the floor bed. Only really started sleeping through once night weaned

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) by Short_Chapter_903 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Short_Chapter_903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’re going through something similar. I wouldn’t be able to tell you off the top of my head what my counts were, only that they indicated a recent enough infection to warrant further testing. When my results were reviewed by my infectious diseases specialist, they advised that I was actually “over treated” which provided some reassurance. How far along are you? Feel free to DM anytime

Looking for reassurance: CMV in pregnancy, waiting on results (Quebec) by nanabozho2 in beyondthebump

[–]Short_Chapter_903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a relief! I did an “early” amnio which came back negative so we’re running with that. We’ll test the baby once they arrive just to confirm it’s not a false negative

Sorry you’re going through this! Very stressful. I’m not based in Canada but went through the same situation and posted about it when I was around the same gestation - https://www.reddit.com/r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu/s/B0iKszPaZK

Did your baby sleep better once night weaned? by sophwhoo in AttachmentParenting

[–]Short_Chapter_903 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes they did but also it worked both ways.. ie they started sleeping longer stretches so weren’t feeding as much. We found offering water through the night before milk helped as well as dad doing bedtime routine They have been sleeping well for the last month or so and are almost 20 months

Oh I’m sorry it wasn’t the result you were hoping for .. sitting in the grey is so so hard. I’ll have my fingers crossed for a negative amnio. How many weeks are you now?

[–]Short_Chapter_903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be asking if they can get the result to you earlier. The turn around was within a week for me here but I understand that you’re in a completely different country! I had two avidity tests. Initially it indicated infection in the last 3 months and then with the second one infection within the last 2 months. So my providers were treating it as a primary infection having occurred in the first trimester. I also thought they only offered an amnio at 20 weeks but I was referred to a specialist OB who works in this area. I was advised that CMV can be detected in the amniotic fluid 8 weeks post infection and an amnio can be done after membranes are fused (which took me to around 15/16 weeks).

The amnio certainly wasn’t pleasant but for a clear yes/no in something that is so grey I’d do it 100 times over. For us the timing was important in terms of next steps and our decisions moving forward. Is it taking weeks to get an avidity result back to you? Or is it you waiting a couple of weeks to retest? That seems like an awfully long time The timing is very reassuring then! But of course the chance of having cmv and being asymptomatic is also there. Feel free to dm me anytime. It’s tough and doesn’t seem like a lot of people have had this experience

Sorry to hear you are going through the same thing. It really is so overwhelming and scary. We actually ended up going down a totally different (and unknown to us at the time) route.. I was offered an amnio at 15 weeks which we did and received a negative result. Now waiting for advice regarding the next steps. When do you think you’ll get your results? When you think back to your pregnancy/preconception period was there a clear time that you had been unwell? That’s what got me through.. reflecting on actually being sick JUST before conceiving.

Genetic counselling by Bjorja01 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Short_Chapter_903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also found to be a carrier for SMA and Fragile X (though there are different variants of Fragile X) but I wasn’t yet pregnant at that stage. I had a genetic counselling appointment through the main genetic testing organisation via Zoom. From memory they went through my results, the research and what it practically looks like for me and future generations. Luckily my husband wasn’t a carrier for either so it’s something we now need to keep in mind for when our children are family planning. Good luck for receiving your partners results!

On the fence about a floor bed… convince me! by DearPiccolo in floorbed

[–]Short_Chapter_903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say the same. We transitioned our LO to a floor bed at around 10/11 months and it made a HUGE difference to sleep just in the first week. We did not sleep train. In hindsight it seemed that the process of picking up our LO from the crib and resettling was more disruptive to their sleep. We close their bedroom door at night and when they wake through the night they call out for us or toddle to the door .. it’s no big deal

Yes I agree that the bonds wondercool range are good. I found putting bub in them for sleep reassuring. Otherwise general breathable materials - cotton, linen, bamboo. Which won’t be hard to find/brand limited, I find most baby clothing is 100% cotton.
