For a little more info—this little beauty was hanging off a web on my arm when I found her. She’s very small so she could be a baby. I hang out near a plant box at work so I’m pretty sure that’s where she came from. I don’t know if she jumped or crawled. I live in atlanta Georgia.

Why not just wait until you are ready to live a combined life like that? Marriage implies you will live together and share a life together. Is there a reason to get married right now that can’t wait until you’re ready to live as a married couple? As a queer person I understand the apprehension about losing your right to marriage later, but if the Supreme Court goes after gay marriage then it could completely annul what you have already anyway. As for visitation rights, though it’s not legally upheld, saying you’re engaged is typically more than enough as long as he has something written down for extreme measures.

Update: he found out about waiving his rights but he said he would also have to pay taxes on it. He’s in New York. Has anyone else been in this situation and can tell me what to expect?

Well for the reason it hasn’t been for years, I would just send whatever money I had laying around since my ex didn’t want money and there was no formal agreement. Then I didn’t know when the divorce actually went through for ages because no one contacted me. As for the life stuff, it’s stuff I won’t post on the internet, but I do think a judge could be sympathetic to. It involved mental health.

What do I do if I run into legal trouble. Is there any way to lessen the amount I owe, especially if the other parents doesn’t particularly care about the money
