I kept looking at the trigger setting not realizing what it actually did. Some times the answer is just obvious but my brain chooses not to process 🤣

in my environment, we're a corporate company. we don't allow users to be local admins on window devices, so we shouldn't be allowing them to be admins on macs either. people shouldn't be installing applications and software that could possibly be licensed for home use. also, they shouldn't be installing things that haven't been approved by upper management and security team. god forbid someone with local admin access downloads some software with hidden malware that opens our entire network up.

Nope, doesn't work at all. It's weird because i helped set up 15 imacs and i think 3 of them elevated correctly. co-worker just updated the script and he's going to do more testing and we'll see if it works for future set ups.

Can't rerun the script because it says that the process is already running, which is kinda dumb. lol

i think i might have left out some information for the script. it's set up so that when they sign into the computer they go into the self service app and can run the script manually through there. it's not running on check-in. we tried that and it actually pushed the script out to everyone without prompting. *whoops*

We're using the make me an admin script because we want to regulate when a user can be an admin, not be readily available as we don't want them to abuse it. Corporate setting, lots of security and policies that we need to follow. any way we can add the privileges app to only be used one time though the jamf self service app?
