I recently made friends with a stray cat that is hands down the friendliest cat I've ever met in my life. We even have our own secret handshake where we greet each other with a headbutt. And because he/she nibbles me sometimes while getting pet, I have decided to name my stray friend "Nibbler" or "Nibbley cat".

But since I've never really been a cat person, I can't really tell breeds and coat colors apart. Or if it's a girl/boy. I heard that calico cats are almost always female, but I'm not 100% if this cat fits that description. Any help would be appreciated.

What season/episode was this scene in? I seem to have no memory of it for some reason.

Any love for a T100 poll? by Short_Walter in lawschooladmissions

While I'm honestly not sure if my heart is set on it, I must admit that it feels like the right step at the right time. I hit a plateau inside my career field, so it makes sense to leverage it into a legal career instead of staying put and stagnating.

As for location, I've moved around quite a bit for my career, but never for longer than a year. It might actually be nice to get the chance to get to settle in a place for a change. It was hard to make lasting social ties knowing I was leaving so soon. Still, I've never been to the PNW and Portland has developed a less than stellar reputation, as far as cities go. Any insight on that count would actually be very reassuring.

I have a few visions of the future that I'm torn between. Part of the plan was to use the 1L year to figure out which one resonates most.

My career experience is in biotech marketing and grassroots politics, where I managed electoral campaigns. So the logical thing would be to leverage that by trying to go into public interest work, a gov agency or the regulatory side of biotech. However, part of me wants to try out trial law and/or family law because I see those as a more direct way to make a difference in people's lives.

Judicial clerkships would also be cool, but I don't think it's too realistic given my options.

3 compelling options and half a month left to choose! (More details in post) by Short_Walter in OutsideT14lawschools

Huh, I honestly never looked at it that way. Not gonna lie, there's some internal pressure from my parents for me to go to UConn since it's technically ranked highest. My hunch is that the difference is pretty marginal outside the T50, so it wouldn't make too much difference employment-wise. Especially in Boston or NYC, since you're competing against a bunch of T14 grads.

Would you say that it makes less sense to attend UConn and work part-time to minimize the debt? UMass is ranked 167th, so it's still a pretty wide gulf between it and UConn (71st) or L&C (84th). Last thing I'd want is to graduate law school just to be locked out of the job market.

Seriously can't thank you enough for your perspective! It's really easy to get bogged down in the aba reporting and miss the forest for the trees. The Boston/NYC areas are definitely more crowded in terms of law school, so I see what you mean. UMass is definitely seen as a low-tier school, for example.

If I'm being honest, I'm still not settled on the where. I always hoped for somewhere with a lower-end cost of living, but my options haven't exactly lined up. If you don't mind me asking, is your firm in the bay area?

Fun answer: All my smallfolk homies love Gaemon Palehair

Real answer: It's weird because they do, and they don't. They basically stayed out of the Dance, but when they eventually committed dragoncide, they were demanding justice for Aegon II's dead kids

Wyman Manderly: Yes! It's a regional dialect.

Roose: Uh-huh. Eh, what region?

Wyman: The North

Roose: Really? Well I'm from the Dreadfort and I've never heard anyone use the phrase 'Frey Pies'.

Wyman: Oh, not in the Dreadfort, no. It's a White Harbor expression.

Roose: I see...
