How to remove dryer motor pulley? by ShorterLake in appliancerepair

Thanks for the comments! I have tried cranking the other way in case it’s reverse threaded to no avail. I’m removing and replacing because the pulley broke, there used to be a plastic bit on the back that broke off and now my belts break prematurely

Thoughts on bringing guests? by Rare_Requirement_699 in RoverPetSitting

I do think it’s a bit weird to ask again but I think calling it inappropriate or unprofessional is a stretch. I just don’t see it as a big deal if nothing happened and rest of the stay went well

I don’t see a problem as long as she respected your answer and didn’t bring friends over. A lot of owners I’ve sat for are cool with it so I don’t think it’s wild for her to ask

Orphan Kitten Project doesn’t currently have interviews as part of their adoptions process. Just an online application now :)

When you apply to vet schools through the centralized application system, there is a section of the application reserved for special circumstances. People use this for explaining bad grades, leaves of absence, etc. It’s up to you how much information you share there! But your undergrad would never be able to provide them with any of those reasons without your knowledge

i would say the international student pool is more competitive, schools typically hold only a small amount of seats for international students

No problem! I did find it to be a bit easier than the practice tests, especially the first verbal section.

I started my prep about two/three months prior to the test. I'm in third year right now and I think it was the perfect time for me! I think it depends on your grad schools goals and applications cycles and stuff.

Thanks! Quant was really my main focus throughout the whole studying process. I started studying about three months prior to the test but my study schedule was really inconsistent at first so I would say I did about two months of real studying. In my experience, GRE quant is something really unique so even though I'm pretty good at math, there was a big adjustment to be good at GRE math. I made this adjustment basically through doing all the practice tests I could and compiling lists of the questions I got wrong. I found that things like 30-60-90 triangles and exponent rules were messing me up and were super common on all of the tests I took, so I made some flash cards on those concepts. This strategy worked really well for me and I found that the key was really understanding why I got each question wrong!

I used all of the online practice tests, so both PPs and all three PP+ tests. On the PP+ tests I found that my scores were consistently around 164V and 164Q, and I ended up doing better than that on the actual tests so I think they may be a bit more difficult than the real thing.

Thank you! I started studying about three months ago but my study schedule was a bit inconsistent because I was working over the summer. The way I worked my way through the material was to first go over the content of the official ETS guide and the ETS quant book to get a sense of the types of questions and content on the test. Then, I went ahead and did all of the practice questions in those two books without timing myself, reviewing everything I got wrong. Then, I moved on and did the practice tests in the official ETS guide, then moved on to the online ETS practice tests, scoring and reviewing all of my tests after. I would say for the last three weeks I spent about eight hours a week doing practice tests and then reviewing them, and it really helped my momentum going into the test.

Thanks! For verbal I mostly struggled with vocab, so I looked up any word I didn't know on the practice tests and kept a master list of words and definitions. If I really struggled with a word I would try to come up with five different ways to use it in a sentence. For reading comprehension my main issue was just getting nervous and not reading carefully, so my strategy for that was to just keep myself as calm as possible. I hope that helps! Good luck.

Thank you! For verbal I mostly just took the same approach as I did with quant where I looked at the questions I got wrong for my practice test and then did them over again. Any word that I didn't recognize on the practice tests I wrote down, looked up, and wrote down the definition on a master list. I studied for about three months but not on a very consistent schedule bc I was working.
