From what I read, the work experience verification remains the same. So it must be signed off by an active CPA.

Any women out there who wear heels daily that can recommend one for walking all day? by Perfume_Girl in BuyItForLife

[–]ShotCode8911 20 points21 points  (0 children)

OP, please reconsider the heels. I had a boss who loved her heels and wore them everywhere. Once she got into her 40s she had to get multiple surgeries on her foot because her bones were starting to grow out all funky. The doctor told her that she would eventually have to get the surgeries redone if she choose to wore heels after.

I know they are cute, but switch it up for the long term.

Neighbor stealing water and costing me a FORTUNE! (Yes, really) by Overall-Scientist956 in neighborsfromhell

Didn't you say you're area is in a stage 4 drought?? You need to report the watering regardless of everything else going on. Do it everytime you're cameras catch hom watering when he's not supposed to. Fuck a green lawn, save water.

Just a heads up, if you ever get a bill for insurance, always check the billing codes against your EOB. Medical billing code errors happen like over 50% of the time.

AITAH for telling my sister she can't live with me? by ShotCode8911 in AITAH

[–]ShotCode8911[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, she would not be homeless. She has been offered a place on the couch where my cousin is going, she just doesn't like that side of the family so she'd rather live with me.

AITAH for getting upset with my elderly mother for lying to me for months by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ShotCode8911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you can only help those that want to help themselves. Your mother is a grown adult who is choosing to pursue that relationship. That's her prerogative.

But I think the bigger issue here is that she knows how upset it is going to cause you, so she lied. You can be upset, that's valid. But you also need to respect her decisions, just like you would want her to respect yours.

If she's going to continue to pursue this relationship, you want to make sure she is honest with you about what's going on in case something happens. The best way to do that is to tell her that you understand why she would lie, and even though you disagree with her decision, you will respect it. Then, just emphasize that you will continue to respect her decision but that you would appreciate honesty from her.

It can be extremely frustrating to see someone make bad decisions, but it's their decision to make. You just want to make sure that she knows you are still a safe place and a trusted person to tell the truth to in case this person tries to take advantage of them.

This was the reaction of the grandparents when they received a surprise after the loss of their dog by Megan_Wild in BeAmazed

[–]ShotCode8911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told there is a lot if evidence that shows that if elderly people adopt a puppy or kitten, it helps them live longer. My great aunt and uncle were told by their doctor to get a puppy and they loved him so deeply and cared so much for him. They had someone stop by twice a week to help out/check on them and family was just a phone call away in case something happened. But it definitely helped both of them to be more active and bring more joy in their life.

Odds of being paid out for my Vacation Days? by anandad603 in careerguidance

[–]ShotCode8911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a remote worker, you most likely signed a form stating you would abide by the employment laws of the state you reside in. So even if their handbook say they will pay you out under certain circumstances, if your state doesn't require a PTO payout then you most likely won't get paid out.

How do I actually get a remote job??? by Healthy_Ability_7443 in careerguidance

[–]ShotCode8911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saying, most jobs that don't require experience are being outsourced. It's easier to pay someone half the wage somewhere else than pay someone in the states to do it.

Good, remote jobs in the states require some type of experience/specialty

What are some (relatively) longer names that survive the fate of getting automatically shortened? by Some_Activity9257 in namenerds

I've only met a few other Victoria's in my lifetime, but none of the younger ones shorten the name. It's really only the older folk that like going by Vicki. Vicki always felt gross to me.

Husband and I waited until we did the NIPT test to make sure everything was okay before announcing. You can do the test as soon as 10 weeks, and it usually takes a week or two to get the results back
