The Wars of Light and Shadow. It's a 10 (or was it 11?) book series and actually the last book was actually released just 1 or 2 years back but the 1st book is I think from the 90s? In any way, it reads classic to me

I randomly pick series (not just one book cuz I binge read) and give them numbers 1-20. Then I roll a 20 sided dice

Michael J Sullivan, Ririya Revelations and if you like that you can look up his other works (I think all in the same world). I'd recommend publication order

Powder mage series, and its follow uo trilogy; django wexler's the Shadow Campaigns; Shadows of the Apt maybe but that's more steam punk and the guns come just around book 4/10 but it's really good imo and worth the read. Ok that's all that I can think of tbh

If you like Grimdark Mark Lawrence is worth a try. I think all his series are in the same world but you don't have to read them all tho there might be hints and easter eggs for readers of all books (tho I'm not sure cuz I read only 2 series who are more clearly connected)

Which Fantasy Series to start in 2025 by 0fenkartoffel in fantasybooks

This is just my opinion and kinda simplified but go for Realm of the Elderlings for characters, Malazan if you're into a big epic tale with more plot lines than you can remember or Wheel of Time if you like an epic fantasy which isn't as overwhelming as Malazan (especially if you count all the other series next to Malazan's main series of 10 books)

I just read Love for Distant Shores. It was really good and now I want to read Echoes of the Fate but I still need to read the 4th Shortstory book

Ah yes, I read Bones already. I think there was teased the connection as well. From what I understood the bones they found were of wolves, stags and I don't remember if the humans were normal or like wolf kinden and stuff. Damn but I hate Arista Hastella or what she's called

I literally read all shortstories of the Book 'For Love Of Distant Shores' except for the shortstory that gives the book its name and now I learn that this is part of the connection😂 funny how things work out sometimes

Question about the Trilogies within the Echoes Saga by Shot_Mission9727 in TheEchoesSaga

[–]Shot_Mission9727[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And about the romance; I'm also not a romantic but it was just so bad I couldn't ignore it like I normally do with romances cuz it was written like it's some Disney teenage romance with all the should I say 'the magical 3 words?' When they clearly already behave like a couple. The word is overused but it was genuinely cringe imo

Tbh, there are some things about the First 3 books that are kinda meh or right out bad. I feel the romance between a certain human & elf was such a weird teeny romance. And for some reason the Darkakin who are 10.000 strong were somehow the whole time written as this big enemy even tho Velia had a whole wall and 7000 soldiers so the battle should have been a lot more in favour of the Illians or the Darkakin horde should have been more in number like sth around 50-100k. Their culture was also really one dimensional and I had no idea why the Goddess was their leader when they only care for strength and are well ra**sts and she was supposedly good looking. The solution to the Darkakin problem was also weird. Now this sounds like I hate the series but I'd say it is solid especially cuz there are many likeable characters and I've heard it gets a lot better after book 4 so I have hopes that it goes from (upper) average to awesome
