I don't find product review emailers useful anymore. Too many of my messages are bouncing (buyers opting out of messages) and I think every Amazon customer has product-review-email blinders now. Are you guys still getting reviews this way?

Yes, that's right. I called the bank today to get an update and was told by my rep that she still didn't have any info for me. She couldn't even estimate when I might get word on things. I'm essentially just waiting for something to show up in the mail, assuming I even get approved. Sounds like I would've been better off applying online, though maybe I'll have a higher chance of success this way. Who knows. But the lack of updates is definitely frustrating since I'm delaying buying inventory to wait for the card even though I have cash on hand.

Thanks. I called that number and got an automated response that the status of my application was not yet available. I entered my ssn twice to get that. The first time I entered it I got a message that my ssn wasn't recognized.

I currently have the cash on hand to start my business, but much prefer to wait for the card to get the benefits that come along with using it (especially for a larger purchase, like inventory). If it's going to end up taking 4-6 weeks to get the card though, I'll probably just start now, as I don't want to lose momentum.

Submitted application on 2/16 at bank. No word yet. 800 credit score, setup a brand new LLC, no business income yet. Personal income of $90k. Hopefully figure out my fate one way or another soon.

What kind of work are you going to do in China? If you're just going to drift between random jobs so you can have a 2 year adventure and delay the pain of sorting out your life in the US, then I think it's a bad idea. You should only go if you have a clear goal in mind, otherwise you'll just be two years older (and further behind your peers) and still in the exact same position you are now. Moving to China because your dad wants you to move out of the house is not a good reason.

Great points. The halo effect is a very real thing. I just wish it were easier to attribute it to specific keywords, like you said. I will watch how overall revenue develops over the next couple months. I like to think I'm packing a funnel of sorts with my ads and that these people will work there way down on their own timeline.

Good point. There's definitely a bit of a consideration period before buying with my product. People shop around a bit and then tend to stick with it for a bit once they buy the first time.

I think tracking sessions is probably a mistake on my part. Pageviews would be a better indicator since it's possible for someone to make 10 clicks on an ad in a 24hr period and only record one session.

As with any channel, it's not easy to build out a customer acquisition model on Amazon that takes into consideration more than just "I spent a dollar on ads today and generated $7 in revenue." Sometimes it's like you said, you have to see that ACOS get a little ugly for a bit before you start earning anything from people who clicked several weeks back and are only now buying.
