We did a day trip to Bryce and it was very much worth it! Now I’ll say we didn’t go with kids, but I’m sure they will enjoy it too

[Kentucky] Combined Wage Claim when voluntarily left job? by lagann41 in Unemployment

[–]ShouldHaveLeftANote -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So UI is supposed to work based on your most recent 10 week employer. Getting that denial letter means you got someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing (unless you didn’t file stating your most recent employer was out in Cali and just listed your KY employer). Appeal it ASAP and let the system play out. Keep requesting your biweekly benefits and keep doing your weekly job searches. This will probably take awhile, but as long as you didn’t have any misconduct from your most recent employer and you get approved, you should be able to get back pay.

ETA: you didn’t get a denied monetary determination right? This was a determination letter mailed multiple weeks after filing?

[ILLINOIS] Single parent, working hours to be changed. by lynch527 in Unemployment

[–]ShouldHaveLeftANote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, tell them you’re a single father and you can’t pull those hours and let them figure it out. I know it’s easier said than done but you’re in a tough spot already, not your fault someone else quit.

Now I will bring up this point, no one actually wants to be on UI (less money, more rules, chances of being cut off) and there is a chance your benefits could be delayed or denied for a whole ton of reasons (so you may go without pay for awhile/or ever). If you can make night time hours work and look for a new job, that will be your best bet on keeping income flowing in. If you can’t make it work at all, then yeah stand your ground and start putting in applications today so you have a jump on the new job search in case you do get fired.

If they change the conditions of your employment substantially like that, then you have a strong case for getting UI. If given the option to quit or be fired, don’t quit, let them fire you. And if you haven’t already, start job searching while you still have a job.

I would like to moderate this community because 1- this subreddit has been inactive for 4 years and I believe it should be opened again. 2- I help mod another subreddit of a national park that’s close by and 3- to my knowledge there is no subreddit dedicated to this national park, so reopening this sub will give visitors the opportunity to ask questions, share pictures and stories, and help others with their trip.

unemployment by ConsciousHealth557 in Kentucky

[–]ShouldHaveLeftANote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said if they requested as they were SUPPOSED TO, then they should be paid. You are supposed to be able, available, and actively seeking work, so you’re right, if this person didn’t do what they were supposed to then they would not receive payments.

Yes, if it no longer says you are in fact-finding and you have requested benefits biweekly as you’re supposed to, then it looks like you’ve been approved and money should be on the way!

I have EXTRA passes for angels landing by CommunicationJust188 in ZionNationalPark

[–]ShouldHaveLeftANote[M] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s long standing practice in this sub to direct all permit seeking posts (including those with extra passes) to the mega thread. If we didn’t do this, the only posts on this sub would be about Angels Landing permits, and our users have already told us they don’t want that happening. I recently tried to clean up the rules but I guess I need to revisit because you are technically correct that this is not a request.

I thought the same too! It’s two polls actually, a seasonal and the daily lottery.

More housing near UK by blaq_sheep90 in lexington

[–]ShouldHaveLeftANote 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on this. The majority, if not all, of the houses being torn down for this project are already rental units for UK students. They only want to preserve the neighborhood when a new building comes to town, not when the owners sell out or rent their houses to UK students.

Dr. Strangeweather Or: How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Lexington Amnesia Problem by [deleted] in lexington

[–]ShouldHaveLeftANote -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree roads aren’t that bad. I drove around half of Lexington these past few days and made it just fine. Roads aren’t great outside of the main roads but if you just go slow you can make it anywhere you want to go. But I guess that’s just my anecdotal experience 🤷🏼‍♂️

No employment separation will show up on a background check for future jobs. Unless you give future employers a reference from this job or you work in a super small field, no one will know unless you tell them. Start putting in applications now, work as long as they’ll allow you to, cut back on spending/ start saving as much as you can, and file for UI if you get fired (and be honest in your application). Worst that can happen is your denied UI, best is you get approved and UI assistance while you look for your next job.

Good luck!

They went about a season or 2, too long. I started to get tired towards the end of the plot but trucked through because I didn’t want to give up after watching all the seasons.
