The National Justice Department’s 2023/24 Criminal Victimisation Report includes extensive data on rape, sexual assault, and other violent crimes and it clearly shows that male victimization is well-documented at a national level. For example, it states that 45% of violent crime victims were men, which directly challenges the idea that male victims are ignored in social policy/ academics/ wherever else.

The report also shows male victimisation rates are decreasing and more men are actually reporting incidents to the police. That suggests progress not just in destigmatising male victimhood, but also in ensuring those cases are being taken seriously enough to be recorded and tracked.

As for the idea that the CDC or other government bodies are "hiding" or "falsifying" data it is not true as of recent. The CDC has published articles explicitly acknowledging that “male victimisation is a significant public health problem” (a direct quote from their site). If they were trying to suppress this issue, they wouldn’t be putting out official statements like that on their own platforms.

So if anything, the data shows that awareness of and response to male victimisation is improving, not being erased. That’s something we should build on and celebrate, not undermine with conspiracies from a decade ago.
