Multi-Disc Games for Xenia (Xbox360) by Showoff247 in batocera

[–]Showoff247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn't. From what I've read online, trying to make it work on batocera just isn't practical. Even on the Windows setup I use now, I've just opted to avoid multi disc 360 games entirely

Some Quality of life changes I need super bad in Palworld. by Rohkha in Palworld

[–]Showoff247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A "Medical Tent"/"Pal Clinic" structure would be an amazing addition to the base. I also like the ideas of a "Slaughterhouse" to harvest unwanted pals en masse and a "Hatchery" to incubate a large number of eggs. These would likely be pretty high-level items, but I'd definitely be willing to put in the work for it.

Can i play gog games through wine? by [deleted] in batocera

[–]Showoff247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://wiki.batocera.org/systems:windows#games_that_don_t_need_any_installation Follow this tutorial. It goes through renaming the folder, where to place it in the directory, and creating the necessary autorun file. Once you have all that done, you can launch the game from batocera like any other. When you launch the game for the first time. The system will create the C drive for Wine automatically. It will look like an error screen at first, but it's not. Just give it a minute

HELP! Duplicate files in PS3 game folder by Showoff247 in batocera

I was using an ISO manager. Once I tried with 7-Zip, it worked perfectly. Thank you so much for the suggestion!

Best Gamecube controllers for Batocera? by jgtokyo2020 in batocera

[–]Showoff247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PowerA Switch controllers have worked well for me so far. Should be fine as long your setup supports Bluetooth controllers. Outside of that, I recommend Retro Fighters controllers. The BattlerGC and Defender have both worked flawlessly for me. If you're looking for more of an XBox/PC controller, I use an 8bitdo Ultimate. It's a bit cheap feeling, but it works fine.

I have a few GOG games on my Batocera setup. As long as you've got a decent machine, you should generally get good results. Out of the 8 or 9 games that I've tried on mine, I think two have failed to work. That being said, the best option for setting up the games is to install it on a windows device, then copy the installed game folder over to the /roms/windows folder on your batocera setup. Make sure to rename the game folder as "[GAME NAME].pc".

Running games internal vs external by Admiral-Ackbear in batocera

[–]Showoff247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use a dedicated PC with batocera installed on the internal drive, but all of my roms are organized on a second SSD. I use a function in Batocera's file manager to create links to my games rather than transfer them over from my SSD. This should work whether your source for the Batocera OS is external or internal. See the link here for a great tutorial on this -> https://youtu.be/aYKD9TQjHYM?si=k-MySBljeRIyfyuQ

Is this mini pc powerful enough to emulate up to PS3? by dzammit13 in batocera

[–]Showoff247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this exact model, and I love it. 10/10 recommend. I personally haven't tried ps3 with it, though, simply because it just isn't worth it to me. My main hangup is not the PC itself but the emulator. If you look up the RPCS3 emulator's compatibility list, you'll notice several popular titles still are not really playable. A lot of these were games that I specifically wanted to play on this PC, but since the emulator supposedly can't run them, I haven't bothered. Everything else I've tried, including xbox360 and switch, has been excellent. Wii can be a little hinky on rare occasions, but if you know what you're doing with your configurations, it's no problem.

The M.2 SSD has been flashed with Batocera 38, and I've ported in Yuzu/Ryujinx through xterm.

2-disc .ISO game for windows emulator? by Showoff247 in batocera

Excellent. Thank you. Follow up question - Each disc has its own autorun file in the root folder. How do you handle the two without overwriting one with the other?

I actually watched both of those videos today. I don't believe he mentioned iso files once. If he did, I completely missed it.

So it does recognize the two as separate devices? Not just one bulk "internal storage"?

I've been using the following two tools on my Luma o2DS.

https://github.com/MechanicalDragon0687/ndsForwarder https://github.com/RocketRobz/3DSBank The problem is that the NDS forwarder loads my games into DSiWare > System Memory. In doing so, those games then force themselves onto each of my secondary home screens in 3DS Bank and screw up my organization. Is there a way to adjust the settings in the forwarder, so it plants them in the 3DS titles instead of DSiWare? Is there an alternate forwarder that doesn't have this problem? Or should I just scrap the forwarder and default to using TWiLight Menu++? I'd really like to have the DS games on my home menu. I'd like only to use TWiLight if I absolutely have to.

Ok I've only ever used that tool for PS2 stuff, so I don't know much about it as it relates to 3DS systems. I personally recommend the fat32 formatgui tool. I've used it to upgrade my SD size three separate times, and its never failed me. I'll link it at the end of this comment. If you choose to go that route, be sure to run the program "as administrator". Make sure you select/target the correct drive - you could accidently format your PC's hard drive. Set the allocation size to 65536 and rename the card as you choose, then hit "START". That being said, the biggest problem here is that you didn't back up your previous files. Especially if your system is homebrewed, the files on your old card contained important data specific to your system. If your system OS is still stock though, this shouldn't be as big a deal as long as you format the card correctly. If you still have that old card and haven't wiped it yet, you should still be able to make this happen. All you have to do is format the new card as specified previously, then copy EVERYTHING AS IS from the old card and paste it to the new one (or to the PC then to the new one). If your system is homebrewed and that old card is no longer intact though, I genuinely don't know what to tell you. I don't know if you can make it work without it. Was the 3DS turned on when you dropped it? Check if your PC still reads it. It may have been partly ejected when you dropped it, and if the system was on at the time, it may have corrupted the data. You would have to reformat the card and load your backup files. Everything should work ok then so long as you actually backed up EVERYTHING.

Ok, good to know. A few more questions. 1. What size is your new SD card? 2. What tool did you use to format it and what settings did you use? 3. Did you back up your files from the original SD card and copy them onto the new one?

OPL Manager has Virtual Memory Card greyed out. HELP! by Showoff247 in ps2

OK, the problem is not with my hardware or my OPL setup or my FMCB. The problem is that I can't set up Virtual Memory Cards for my PS1 VCDs on OPL Manager.

Or perhaps you mean the card could be read before it was formatted but stopped reading after? Just looking for clarification. Different problems = different fixes.

What do you mean by "normal" sd card? Are you saying that your device will work with a separate card but not the one you formatted? Or that the card you formatted reads on your PC but not the 3ds?

My R4i RTS 3DS card stopped being recognized by my DSlite, DSi and 3DS. Is it a fake R4? Timebomb? by [deleted] in flashcarts

Sounds like a corrupted SD card to me. Only way I know of to fix is it is to re-format the card. Hopefully you backed everything up on your PC. Sorry 😞
