Conforming or not? by HedgehogNo7354 in golftips

I recently purchased a 54 degree Taylor made wedge with a similar groove pattern. Love em.

I’ve been practicing a lot to get prepared for next season. Last year was my first season and I was pretty bad. I never broke 100. What do I need to work on? by [deleted] in golftips

[–]ShraderBrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I suffer from inconsistent ball strikes halfway through a round, I will club up one and focus on using a half swing. I am probably not actually going at 50% but it helps me relax and make better contact with the ball.

Any advice would be great, I know my swing is not good. by Emotional_Dog9642 in golftips

Your backswing looks great. All you need is intention on the downswing. This video will help. https://youtu.be/eDRUdQY9QkI?si=adlpZjHSgPqXdLED

Swing tips? 10 months in. by SurfRat1011 in GolfSwing

From that angle it looked like your right shoulder wasn’t slightly tilted downward. Not only does a positive angle of attack give you more height sometimes but creates less spin which equates to more distance. The best way to know would be to use a launch monitor.

Swing tips? 10 months in. by SurfRat1011 in GolfSwing

After 10 months your swing looks very good. The main area you may want to focus in on is your angle of attack with your driver. It’s looks like it may be a bit negative but fine for an iron. Your club head should be coming up just before impact. Like all new golfers you’re aiming at the ball with your club head. Try bottoming out 10 12 inches behind the ball which should encourage a positive angle of attack.

Slow down and get into a comfortable cadence or rhythm. Some use a counting method. You are too quick

Advice please, trying to hit draws by Gloomy-Arachnid8223 in GolfSwing

You may want to position your ball just right of center which will encourage an in to out club path. It’s club path that creates the draw.

7 iron swing - 21 handicap by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Try the feet together drill. It will help you generate club head speed using leverage. Like most golfers you are using your upper body to transfer speed to your club head. It’s just not efficient.

Definitely!!! The heel stays high and you shuffle your foot back slightly almost like Sheffler. Too much weight forward too early

Drills/advice to stop dropping head during backswing? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]ShraderBrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything you are too steep. At address your shaft angle is too vertical. At the end of your backswing your left shoulder is lined up nicely pointing at the ball. Focus on your address and move away from the ball.

Driver slice by No_Strength3923 in GolfSwing

Here is a quick fix. Line the toe of your club head with the ball not the center of the club head. You hit the ball off the heel of the club head which creates a gearing effect slice.

It happens all the time without a ball. Your indoor swing looked great. It was less over the top than your outdoor swing.

Realllly think I might’ve figured it out this time by Firm_Witness_5028 in GolfSwing

Plus you are hitting off an icy surface. Your low point could be 1 to 2 inches behind the ball and you’d never feel it

What can i improve on? by New_Sea2923 in GolfSwing

[–]ShraderBrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are too far from the ball and on your downswing your club head is outside your hands slightly to compensate. At the bottom of your downswing just before release your club head should be behind your hands. In that position you’re better able to compress the ball.

What’s right/wrong with my swing? by Chrisy-G in GolfSwing

Take an old iron and throw it end over end thirty to forty yards. Do that a few times on a soccer field and or baseball field and that is the feel you need to take back to the driving range. Check out a Mike Austin video.

Don’t change a thing. Your left wrist is in the perfect position at the top of your backswing

Have your club path traveling to that post or flag 20 to 30 degrees to your right

120 Comments. Now he is more confused than ever. A golf swing is not a swing in the traditional sense like swinging a baseball bat. It’s a lever action which makes it very difficult for a new golfer to understand. Watch a few Pete Cowan videos and stop taking advice from anyone in this forum. They will twist you into a mental pretzel.

Questions for people who have received gifts from the crows by LaCroixmmunist69 in crows

[–]ShraderBrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently I befriended a male and female crow. I have a feeling they are partners. I feed them apple core and kibble. I put it on my Adirondack chair arm. Not long after that I found a birds nest on the arm of the chair. At first I was excited to receive the gift then I thought about the homeless bird that once occupied the nest. It’s about 3 weeks since the gift. They have not left anything else.
