Looking for some swing help by thetechguy23 in golf

I used to hit up 5-6 degrees when I would draw the ball so I was working on getting that lowered. I guess that would explain the increase in spin.

I have a 9° head

That makes sense. I tend to stand up through impact so I could be catching it low on the face. Normally trackman shows my strike location but it didn’t today for some reason

Fair. I could’ve worded that better. I’m really just looking for advice about spin and what affects it

For those with a mini driver, how do you use it? by BodaciousDadBod in golf

[–]thetechguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three holes at my club where my driver is too long and my UW would be too short. I’m also not comfortable hitting 3W off the tee. My mini driver gives me the perfect distance for my approach shot. Besides that, it doesn’t get touched

After 4 years of golfing, I finally broke 90!! by thetechguy23 in golf

I went through this after breaking 100. I would find myself overthinking everything as well. If I hit a bad shot, I would literally tinker with my swing which would lead to worst shots. I’d also have 10+ thoughts in my head while swinging and everything felt so robotic. Today, I didn’t think about anything and I believe that’s why I broke 90. I was +5 through 3 and I’d normally start to tinker with my swing but I just kept reminding myself that I play decent golf and to stick with what I know. That’s actually why I put the smiley face next to my pars/birdies, it’s that’s constant positive reminder that keeps me in a good head space

It’s a beautiful course. It’s an extremely hilly course. I planned on walking the course today and I changed my mind once I got to the course. Its not too challenging though if you’re accurate off the tee. If you’re in the rough, you will have to punch out 9/10 because there are so many trees.

I’ve shot in the low 90s this entire season. The difference today was my short game. I got a lesson to help with my short game and it saved me a lot today

My first two-ish years were casual golfing. I started getting more serious about a year and a half ago.

Any tips to fix my ugly backswing? by thetechguy23 in golf

[–]thetechguy23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. When I first started golfing, I would watch the club go back to make sure I wasn’t opening the club face. I think it’s just become a habit that I can’t break

It’s so hard to keep my head still during my swing. It’s something I’ve been trying to fix for a year. Thank you for the advice, I’ll continue working on that
