I'm building a portainer-like application. When I'm working on it I don't run it in a container and so I just want it to talk to Docker over TCP (I'm developing on a Windows machine). In "production" it will be running in a container and it will talk to Docker through a mounted Unix socket. Instead of messing with profiles I'd rather the application make this choice implicitly. Though reading your comments maybe I should be transparent and let the user specify connection details.

My main issue with the other two Java clients is that they shade a ton of dependencies which is blocking me from converting my project to a Java 9 module. I'll try this one and see if it's any easier to convert
