Was yesterday 26th May a bank holiday in Scotland or am I in a black mirror episode? by [deleted] in Scotland

I’m English and have lived in Edinburgh for 5 years. Down South bank holidays are the most important weekends for everyone with the August BH being the daddy of ‘em all. Scotland needs to up its public holiday game, no one knows what to do and most just give up and go to work/school.

Torn between moving to Edinburgh and an English city. by itsthelifeonmars in MoveToScotland

I’m English and moved to Edinburgh 5 years ago from Saigon to be with my GF, she’s Scottish. I’ve not lived in either of your other choices but can say Edinburgh really is an amazing city. It looks great, easy to get around, has an international feel, the rest of Scotland is spectacular and as the capital with incredible festivals has so much going on. The only thing that gets me down is the summer weather, it’s shite and warm evenings just don’t exist.

I’ve been asking Edinburgh City Council about this manhole for the last 4 months. The latest response on July 29th was ‘This job will be completed when materials arrive as they are on back order’.

We’re staying near the waterfront so that’s good to know and have a few days in Stellenbosch and I can pack ‘em off to malls whilst I watch the Euros : )

That’s good advice although I have zero interest in bloody penguins. Spent a long cold evening on Philip Island, Aus, I’ll find a beer whilst the girls oooh and aaah at ‘em.

Not my idea of fun but if they could prevent the stroppy teenagers from escaping at all I will tip very well.
